I don't know why Lucas should be hidden if Masked Man is starter.

Masked Man should not be a starter.

So was Captain Falcon. Besides, it seems weird to only have Mother 3 characters for the starting Mother series reps.

Simple.

We replace Masked Man with Ness.

And then Marth with another newcomer (maybe Isaac?)

We can keep Math a default. No harm in it.

Simple make Ness and Lucas starters with Porky and Masked Man as secrets.
Marth and Ike as starters and Roy as a secret.

Brawler1207, it's better Lucario that Deoxys (Legendary), Mewtwo (Semi-newcomer) or Jigglypuff (She/he was always a secret character)... no?

I can't stand pokemon, but Jiggypuff may be a better choice as a starter, since I believe that it was a common pokemon, compared to the others as to what people say.

Jigglypuff is usually the first unlockable character in Smash Bros. games, though.

I second this. Besides think about your reasoning mutantyoshi. That's exactly why Jigglypuff is unlocked first.
