Sorry. I don't write it right >_< (My typical mistakes when I try write in English xD)

Brawler1207, it's better Lucario that Deoxys (Legendary), Mewtwo (Semi-newcomer) or Jigglypuff (She/he was always a secret character)... no?

Yeah I guess your right.
Ok, how about this then..?
Only Pokemon trainer and pikachu are there, Jigglypuff is easy to unlock, and Lucario is fairly hard

Also, Diddy kong shouldn't be a starter, else there will be too many Mario Franchise as starters.
Except Diddy Kong isn't part of a Mario franchise.

At all.

You know, I never quite understood why Nintendo suddenly decided to associate Donkey Kong with the Mario franchise in the first place, and made players do the same. It just started as a RARE 3rd party title.

Actually, Donkey Kong started out as a Nintendo title, titled Donkey Kong, where he threw barrels at a familiar Italian plumber while holding a familiar young lady hostage.

D'oh. BRB, rereading my gaming history books, namely the "Stuff Everyone Should Know" section.

What I meant to say is the Nintendo adapted the RARE style of Donkey Kong as their new design, and now people are associating every RARE-created DK character as part of the Mario franchise.
You have to consider that DK hasn't done much lately aside from be a cameo in Mario games.

True. Seems like Rare's become an Xbox dev now. I wish that they would make a new DK game in the style of Donkey Kong 64.

At any rate, I think I've steered enough conversation off the original topic. I'm sure you'd all be more interested the progression of the project, rather than my little ramblings.

I'll just make a thread in the Video Games section about it.

Uh, Nintendo SOLD Rareware to Microsoft during the Gamecube/PS2/XBOX era.

Man, I don't even know where I've been all these years. What jerks, man.

No. But he's a part of the greater Mario universe. Sorta like the Wario Ware characters.

Universe != franchise
Yeah I know. I'm just saying that's where people may get the confusion from.

I mean who do you think you're talking to? I just said that because when you said "At all." is like you're implying that there's no connection between Diddy and Mario in the slightest.
There isn't, aside from a few cameo appearances, or in "noncanon" games like Mario Sports. And even then that's not a connection with Mario, that's a connection with Nintendo-- Mario is just Nintendo's poster boy, so most people consider Mario to be the essence of Nintendo himself.

and in a way, he is, don't get me wrong.
DK's appeared in more Mario games than Donkey Kong games.
He may not be a big part, but certainly is no "cameo"...
