I did, and it ruined it.
[Super Mario - Peach]
Seriously, sometimes, something works just better without drums.
I did another attempt, and while it does sound more victorious, it doesn't really sound all that Peach anymore. It's like giving some sweet song about a naive teenage girl wanting to explore a world unlike the one she's been living in a
fucking pop-beat. Only a hundred times less bad.
[Super Mario - Peach]
I was thinking that the song when Travis becomes a higher rank assassin should be one of his songs. It would fit as either really.
Wow... That's... Pretty hard.
But, not impossible. I already know what the loop and fanfare would be. And it involves (synthesized) steel drums.
You know, seeing as steel drums are mostly associated with the Caribbean and the deep sea also is.
Personally, I think the beginning part should be cut out, from 0:00 to 0:02, but my only reasoning is for time.
Actually, a good question is who has the longest fanfare and how long is it?
Not sure whose the longest is, but I doubt any exceed six or seven seconds. I'll do a quick Youtube search to find out...
EDIT: They seem to all be 5-8 seconds, generally just under seven.
EDIT again: Not directly related, but I think the Melee version of Ness's victory theme is much better than the Brawl one; perhaps they could both be used (by Ness and Lucas, respectively?)
While I agree that I really like Ness's 64/Melee fanfare more then Brawl's, when Lucas entered Smash they had to remake the victory fanfare because Ness's old fanfare represented his game and his game alone. I guess using the theme of the game that started it all made the most sense and personally I don't mind it being there as much as I use to hate it.
Yet another preview, or two previews actually:
[Animal Crossing - Fanfare]
I think I have to start over again...
[Star Fox - Wolf]
It's still missing something, perhaps more strings to add to the beginning part, and a bit more brass sections and crap. Also sped it up from 125 to 135 BPM.
Anyway, going off for a while. I'm not really feeling too great, and it might affect the music perhaps.
I think the Wolf one would sound better if it were slower, and maybe tone down the snare drum and add bass drum/timpani or something.

I think you're right. I'll be trying that out later though.
I think Villager needs something before the little jingle he has now. Like a snippet of another song, like my Geno one had the "battle win" jingle and then the beginning of the "level up" one.
