its not every day i get offered something fantastic in exchange for an item for a class i rarely play

According to backpack.tf, a Purple Energy Samur-Eye is worth 7.3-7.7 buds, and a Sunbeams Armored Authority is worth 6.6-7.5 buds. Unless you value the Authority at its lowest and the Samur-Eye at its highest, he overpayed a bit with that bud.

Unusual prices are pretty loose though and not really set in stone, since (unless you're purely marketing them) how valuable they are depends on your personal taste on both the hat and effect.

(All this is coming from someone who doesn't own a single unusual (not including the HHHH), by the way.)

The Soldier's Sparkplug makes a perfect addition to the Dumpster diver set cosmetically, since you know; you find old broken spark plugs and other broken down stuff in a trash can.

You can also get unusual Mecha Gibuses, just letting everyone know
