I have a mozilla plug in that lets me have all the odd letter characters from different languages.

i can't read japansese/chinese/korean characters on FF.

go to control panel, keyboard and language settings, tick the box that says "download middle-western language packs"

I believe you mean eastern languages.
Install support for eastern languages (or just select japanese) and reboot.

on winXP it asks me to install them from the WinXP disc.

wich i dont have.

and i am too lazy to download.
