Well seeing as you're having trouble getting the head right, take a look at this (Ignore the pupil-less eye).
Notice how the jaw is much shorter and the snout isn't quite so bulbous in the Brawl model as opposed to your sprite.
Here's a quick doodle I threw together; Giga Bowser isn't brutish, he's beastly.

It's good, for a WIP. (Tell me it is, that horn is atrocious and the teeth contrast too much. And the hair could use some touching up.)
Well he's been doing the face for the last few days. He'll get to the rest.

I'd say, the original direction you had the teeth bending at first was better, and less were-wolf like.
Update, what do you think so far, I havent been working on him in a little while. so yeah.
It's coming along well, but I agree with whoever said you should keep him in pieces.

The legs seem small compared to the body to me.
somehow i didn't notice arthur's head till now and you should really take a lot more from that. also what moonstalker said
I will fix the legs more, and I did make the face more like Arthur's....
yeah, but there's still more you could take from it. your lower jaw is too big for one thing, the way he shaped the eye and hair is better too.
