There is not shading at all, and I don't eve nknow what the heck that thing was...
WAY too big of a space for such a small sprite, decrease the canvas. Use an image hosting site. ITS ALL STRAIGHT LINES. No shading whatsoever. Is it goop?
I (poorly) have done myself what it looks like to me, a goop pile with eyes and a mouth.

Define what it is and then give it shape like that and use lighter and darker colours to show where light from a consistent source would hit the most.
