I think it's the red shading colour that makes Treecko look that way. And you're probably right, but I'm just learning the ropes of the style (these three are my first).
EDIT: Fixed up Shaymin's shading a bit, reducing the dithering.
Really nice job, I haven't posted on almost anything because nothing catches my attention, but you have just proved me wrong.
The shiny version has the same flower color...I don't think it's supposed to be like that.
One suggestion on Shaymin's shading is the back part of the bush, behind the flower, you should use black to shade the darker part instead of red.
Made two more after a long break.
EDIT: Make that three.
This would still make one hell of a project if done right.
I love these.
BTW, where are you getting those sparkles for the Shiny Pokemon?

I wouldn't mind, but I haven't seen that many custom GSC sprites around here (or anywhere for that matter).

I took a screencap of the Red Gyarados with the sparkles and just edited the Gyarados out and animated the sparkles by hand.

I'd be willing to help if this were made into a project, though! I actually have planned to make each third and fourth gen Pokemon in the style but haven't had the motivation to do so.
I recently made Glaceon and Leafeon in this style. They're not the best, but they could be used for a project and I'd be willing to help do more.
Also, Nosepass looks great, but may be a little to large (since he evolves, you would probably want the evolution's sprite to be noticeably larger). Drifblim is good, but I dislike the way the arm thing on the left (our left) is bending like that (the one on the left looks like it's an arm with a bent elbow, the other two look good). My one gripe with Toxicroak is that his legs are tiny and short compared to an upper body and head that are very wide. But I guess Gen 2 sprites did accentuate the heads on many Pokemon, so it fits the style really well and wouldn't look bad if kept the way it is.
If a good number of you are willing to make this a project, then we can surely organize and sticky an actual community spriting project, which would be a first for this forum, haha.
Any takers?
Well, maybe I could make the topic. Just need to get it all organized. :>
