I don't think most characters face that way in ML3 style. Well, overworld they might, not battle though. Also, you should try not following that reference so closely, do some from scratch and use the reference for reference, not tracing.
Also, this is M&L3 style, make it look soft, clean, rounded, and cartoony. That's the best part about those sprites.
Looks more evil like.

What are you talking about? The only similarities it has with M&L3 style is the AA outline.

I think he means "Come on, this is the M&L3 style! Not some other style!" rather than "This Giga Bowser is in the M&L3 style."
Here is an update of Giga Bowser.

It still looks a bit hard compared to M&L. If you join some of the sections together, sort of flood them into each other. See how normal Bowser doesn`t have a lot of segments? Giga looks sort of like an insect with the segmentation, so I think you should still soften it. But it certainly looks better than the tracing from before.

Dude.

You have a long ways to go before you should even attempt something this difficult.
Well, as everybody else said, it should be a lot smoother. It looks waaaaaay to blocky. The shading is also off quite a bit and i can see multiple light sources. In ML3 the light source is from the top. Also, you should do it part by part and post it instead of doing every part at once then posting because then if you screw up you're gonna have to redo the whole thing again. Just work on it one thing at a time. Until you get the concept of the style, you obviously havn't yet, start with something small, like a arm or leg. That is, even if you continue at this for now. I think you should put this to a pause and sprite some easier things until you're used to it, then you can try this again.
Then again, this is just my opinion.
Okay, here's my new update with Giga Bowser's front pose.

Are you even listening to what everyone is saying to you?
Nevermind, just ignore this thread until I finish my Merlon sprite completely.

As much as I agree with this. Come on guys give him a bit more of an idea on how to pull it off. Giga bowser, is at least in part, is what happens when you take normal bowser, and take a lot of the soft, rounded and cartoony out of him.

Anyways, I'm seeing a few common problems. First off, using a reference directly isn't going to help you that much. You've got to learn to exaggerate a few features. I'd start by bulking up his muscles a lot, especially his arms. Then you might want to inflate his shell a bit, rounding its overall shape a bit.

Second issue: You're over using the darkest shade (And medium tone for that matter) on his skin. This is a large part of what is giving the hard look it it. Use a lot more of the light tone, and start suggesting some of the inner lines instead out right showing them. By that I mean just showing key parts of the outline rather than the entire outline. That's a little more complex of a technique, but saying it should give you an idea where to start.

I'm just not seeing this too hard advice people a giving though. I don't see why you couldn't continue this along side a few other simpler sprites.
Looks just like a bigger sprite, rather than something all that more complex.
