UPDATE MAN
I'm still seeing problems with multiple light sources. Etna seems to be lit from the top and the left, the middle character seems to be lit from the top, the the character on the right appears to be lit from the front left. :C

*sighs* you're right. I thought the shading looked OK since nobody replied but now I see some confusion in the lighting.

I currently have a kiosk at Youchew's festival, and I need to draw the winners before the 27th. I'll just keep the shading as it is.

I might go back and work at this some more, but I want to focus on new things. As a result, this will be the semi-final revision. Thanks to everyone who helped out!
You're just... utterly impervious to critiques, aren't you? :/
Nope. When I feel like I spent too much time fixing a drawing, I move on to drawing something new. I can't keep polishing a turd, right? At least Harada Takehito (the "disgaea artist") faved it in pixiv, but I dunno.

Anyways, a stranger in my Second Life group wanted me to draw her Kani avatar. She offered me 500 Lindens just for the sketch... I liked the result so I slapped some color on it =B

Any crits? This took me about 1 hour to finish (that's why it looks so rushed Ded). I'll draw something better, I promise.
It's not a matter of polishing a turd, you ask for critiques, you get it, you resoundingly ignore them, and then you get upset when you think you're underachieving?

It makes no sense to me. It's a shame, because you have a lot of talent but you're not pushing yourself very often :/
Epistaxis: I dunno.. I'm not the best at improving my pictures. I tried to improve the picture by listening to everyone's crits. I just thought that I improved it enough (to be somewhat better than the original) to move on. I don't like spending weeks on improving a single picture.

I know I'm not pushing myself too often. Since 2009, I've been doing "adult" stuff. I work AND study at FIU as a computer science major. I prioritize those two before doing anything else. I have to push aside non-important stuff like hobbies, and drawing isn't an exception; it's my favorite hobby but it's not important in my life. Way back in 2007, I had a lot more free time to draw (I uploaded the most pictures (about four drawings a week) on DA in august 2007 than any other month). I spent most of that free time trying to improve my coloring/anatomy. Nowadays I only have 3-4 hours to draw before I feel tired (and i only update my DA twice every 4 months) . If I did a lot less "adult stuff", I would push myself a lot harder than my currently craptacular effort.

I've been studying male/female anatomy for the past week... it's going nicely I think.

Oh hay. I am currently working on a flyer for Animazement 2010. It was a request by one of my friends. This is what Eric wrote to me via email on May 7th:

"Oh hey. Marci wants to know if you can do her a really big favor. She is going to be making flyers and she says she wants (in her words) your "masterful art skills". She wants to know if you could design a logo that says ANIMAZEMENT 2010 and it be at the top, and have little chibis be along the bottom, leaving her room in the middle to make her flyer. She says the chibis don't have to be itty bitty. She says be creative, and that she will work around your chibis. But a variety of chibis is what she wants. A catgirl chibi, a gothic lolita chibi...you decide!

Oh and Marci says to put your signature in the bottom right hand corner, cause she is going to mass produce these and turn them into flyers for something going on at our anime convention this year.

But yeah. Marci realllly hopes you can do this. She says she needs it no later than the 20th of this month."

Here is the in-progress flyer. I know that my friend Marci is going to put in the text, so I intentionally left it out.

Dunno why the picture is so bright. The original picture is in CMYK format. Unfortunately, it gets converted to RBG format by the image host. I asked a non-TSR member why; he told me that the internet can't display CMYK pics. It looks a lot better in CMYK format:

I'm just wondering if the composition can be improved. Is it cute? How can be it cuter? I dunno.. help a poor idiot out. I have to finish it up today, so I would appreciate any speedy crits.

Also, I got bored so I sprited one of the chibis. I even gave her the "creative" name of Nina. She is one of my OCs now. =3

I haven't sprited since 2002, so it kinda sucks. I probably made a lot of noobish mistakes. bleh..
you should move the two people wearing black away from each other to balance it out
or change one of their colors, because It's drawing my eye only there, and not the actual message
Oooh, i see. I'll lighten up the goth loli then. Thanks ^^

I can't move those two chibis because they share the same lineart/color layer.

better?
Make the loli chibi a normal loli and not a gothic loli (you know with using pink and white?) and maybe that would help more.
Or maybe use red instead if you're bent on the goth thing? Goth clothing isn't necessarily entirely black, you know.

I think the demon girl is still gonna really stand out though being entirely in black. You could leave the lolita as is and just try brightening up the demon. Again, throw some red on her or something, it looks really odd having those drab colours when everyone else is so bright.

Also, might be the RGB thing, but it looks like you're using completely neutral greys on part of her. Don't do that ever. Ever. Ever ever ever. Tint the greys. Seriously.
