It's really only good for dicking around with your friends. Smogon isn't going to implement it for reasons stated in the thread, and the VGC would look at it as illegal movesets rather than exploiting a glitch so you really can't take advantage of it >:

So how are everyone's teams going? Are you making separate metagame and battle teams? I'm working on my battle team now. It might never be as good as my Pearl time, but I'm going to try. So far I've got Suicune, Gliscor, and Dusknoir. The rest will come. I'm trying not to repeat from Pearl's team.
my team is mostly made of favorites, but I still try to be a bit strategic about movesets and balancing types. I don't go out of my way to make them especially powerful, though.
finally got off my ass and leveled up enough to tackle the E4, now I'm blasting through Kanto. everything looks really nice, Vermilion actually looks like an important port town now.
I'm lingering around Chuck's place. I'm severely underlevelled - I bested Morty through strategic use of my Magnemite; popping in with Thunder Wave to slow everything down; and following up with Croconaw's Crunch and Kadabra's Confusion. Because I try to keep my team level; and I have a high turnover rate of new 'mon (Beedrill was replaced by Abra; Elekid replaced by Magnemite; Kangaskhan by Staryu; Magby has survived so far), my average level only increases slowly.
I want to add Venonat to the mix (probably replacing Staryu - I like Staryu infinitely more than Croconaw; but 'naw is stronger); but it would mean training all over again.
Getting a Mamoswine for my party and giving him the following abilities:
Known Moves: Ice Fang, Earthquake, Blizzard, and Ancient Power.
I switched out Gyarados for Articuno, just because I really like Articuno and I don't know why. I don't thin I can consider my current team a "battle" team because of Articuno (my ONLY legendary in-team), but right now I'm set up like the following;
Nidoking (grinding)
Typhlosion
Zangoose
Girafarig
Lanturn
Articuno
I wanted to use Cloyster, due to its high defense, but I checked its stats, and found out it has probably the shittiest special defense I've ever seen next to Zangoose. And it's not fast, so it could easily be taken out in one turn by a special attack. :/
Articuno isn't really a legendary, infact I think it's nu. Also it is the only pokemon that can learn mind reader and a ohko (sheer cold).

I'd like to replace raikou with a shinx and level it up, but i have to wait for the sinnoh radio broadcast to go looking for one. I wanna replace lugia as well, but i don't know what to go for.

Finally hatched a technician scyther
My team: Torterra, Charizard, Ampharos, Espeon, Lapras, and Togetic (will evolve soon). I did have Meganium and Snorlax, but replaced Meganium with Aerodactyl, who I then replaced with Torterra and I replaced Snorlax with Togetic. But I have like 12 pokes I plan on raising up and using for a team (all of the ones I mentioned, plus a Scyther, Honchkrow, and Arcanine).
Seeing all your strategies for raising teams makes me feel like a new person to pokemon.

Working on the last member of my tentative party. Obviously I'll have to adapt it as I battle and get my ass kicked.

I beat Chuck with my Graveler just the other day. I enjoyed not fighting Tyrogue, Hitmontop and Heracross in his gym.

This also happened when I was battling Chuck and when I was exploring the Team Rocket HQ. Did anyone else think "Mother" was annoying in this game?
