shoddy doesnt have hgss moves updated yet(when they had 6 months to do so), so if youre planning on using an hgss exclusive move, wont be able to test it on shoddy. move tutor hgss moves and egg moves arent updated..

Yes they do, and yeah they are. You have to;
>Click Team Builders tab
>Click Smogon University
>Bam, you now have HGSS moves.

We're doing this (at least initially) with Shoddy Battle, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Oh, on a side note

I won't be able to represent my team ingame without trading. I can get the Venomoth, Starmie, and Haunter in SS no problem, but Rotom I'll have to get from Plat (does HGSS even have the alternate formes?), I can't catch Sableye in SS, and I have no idea where the fuck I'm getting a Dusclops from.

Technically, can't all those besides Rotom be BRED in HGSS? If that's the case, the egg hatched will be YOUR pokemon. And I have several Duskulls I think, you can have one of them if I do.

True enough. At this point I have a ditto and access to the pokemon breeder, so I can arguably get it all done with my 'mon from Platinum; I just need to borrow a friend's DS for a bit.

I think exceptions might have to be made if you wanna use Rotom though, I don't think he can breed, can he?

ahaha, this is a really neat idea. I actually have a fancharacter that could be used for Dark but he is so far removed from me and I can't really bother right now with making a team.

but! totally gonna keep tabs on this, can't wait to see the results

Actually; Rotom's not Legendary, so he can breed just fine. It would be a shame if I couldn't take advantage of the Appliances, though.

With Rotom in front, go to the elevator in Silph Co. to access the room with appliances.
