Final Fantasy XII, protip: If you can't include tactical warfare or Ramza Beouvle, Your doing it wrong.
Devil May Cry 2 and 4. Dante's lines are gone and shit isn't over the top anymore. WTF? Now I gotta play a game NOT ABOUT DANTE? Wow, you guys know how to wine a dine the Kill Bill over the top martial arts, gun slinging, sword crowd eh Capcom?
Muramasa the Demon Blade, while you ARE a good game Muramasa you are NOT Odin Sphere.
Digimon World 2, good thing 3rd time's the charm am I right?
Megaman Legends 3 - where the fuck is it Capcom? Where the fuck is it? You need me to slap you with enough cash for that shit you fuckers?! I'll do it! One million across the face for my ultimate sequel you hear me!?

makes it bad how???
I think what she's trying to say is that it should have been called Final Fantasy Online instead of FFXI.
The numbered games should be reserved only for the JRPG games, while spinoffs (such as XI [yes, it's a spinoff] and tactics) should get their own series.
It's disappointing that they wasted a number (two, actually with the release of FF14 coming) on games that aren't actually true FF games, and are instead MMOs.

SF64 was one of my childhood joys and one of my first videogame obsessions.
why did they feel the need to add 3rd person shooter elements?! all I want is the Arwing...
What.
SFA was awesome. >: (
They still need to do an Arwing-only game.
I really don't see how the numbers are important when none of the games follow on. And when they do There called #-Part 2 or have some other subtitle.
That may be true, but unlike the JRPGs, the MMOs won't be around 10 to 20 years from now.
Think of it this way. The NES ones are 20 years old and are still playable. They set the standard for the series. The MMOs, however, most likely won't be playable 20 years from now because of servers, etc meaning the only way to actually play would be through unofficial servers (assuming any would exist) which still isn't playing the game legit.
That being said, the official (aka numbered JRPGs) games should be the main series games, and therefore timeless.
Since the MMOs have an "expiration date" per se, they shouldn't be in the main series.
See where I'm going with this?
I do. I wouldn't see why anyone would want to play the NES ones. But I get your point.

As Vipershark said, for being online. Usually people who plays online games don't give a shit about storyline, it's just about PK and powering up. And FF series IS about storyline. If there was one offline mode, like Phantasy Star Online or Phantasy Star Universe then it would be easier to forgive.
Also, when they shut down the servers, no-one will be able to play it anymore. And I do know it got one big storyline and unlike Lineage2 the story is quite present during the entire quests and gameplay (in L2 you got to read the entire official site to know what's going on, it's never mentioned at the game itself). And so far there's no privative servers.

I sorta agree, although I liked the dynamic jobsystem (I refuse calling it Dresssphere ) FFX-2 had, it was a neat idea, but everything else was just meh.
FFXII, on the other hand, was complete bullshit, just set up some gambits and let the game play alone.. FUN! not really
The only two things that are worth the time in FFX-2 is the job system. It was fun and a great experiment, and allowed some good strategies. The other thing was the story. It was a good expansion to the FFX's , cleared up some missing spots and added a happy ending (not necessary, but it was nice).
FFXII the gambit system is utterly shit. You can play it while you're sleeping. And the game takes itself so serious it's even ridiculous. Also, the player party is boring, except for Balthier.

If FFXII had Ramza it would be a better game. If they could ditch Penelo, it would be even better.
Devil May Cry 4 you play as Dante for almost half of the game, and when you play with him it's mind-blowing. Changing styles mid-combo, messing around with Yamato, and he's far more powerful than Nero, not to mention they restored his personality and he's not the stupid aloof shit as he is in DMC2 and Anime. I'd love to play with him at the final party or having a Dante-only mode. Well, better than Vergil mode in DMC3 Special (two videos and no more story? C'mon!). The only thing that disappointed me in DMC4 was...The game was too easy.
And yea. I WANT MML3 TOO DAMMIT!

FFXI was notorious for having pretty much NO PVP not to mention PKing. Also FFXI has FOUR big story lines. This is why WoW lovers hate on FFXI-- no PvP and they actually have to play with each other. It's also why FFXI lovers hate on WoW-- barbaric PvP and you play 8-% of the game by yourself.
It deserved a number, regardless of your arguments. So does XIV. You know why? Because regardless of what patterns you can find it's
not your franchise. They can do as they please, and it's no ones right to tell them they were wrong in doing so. especially with something as trivial as the naming of a game.
Just like Pokemon, many claim that the newer Pokemon aren't real Pokemon. It's like, YES THEY FUCKING ARE. You know why? Because the people in charge of making the Pokemon made them with the intention of making them Pokemon. So regardless of your preconceived notion on what a Pokemon was, the newer ones are
still Pokemon.
You have every right to not like it, but there is no justification as to why it's a disappointment, as it was very fulfilling. I played it for five years, I don't see me playing any other FF for 5 years straight.
EDIT: This was a response to both Ultimecia and Viper so if somehting doesn't sound right it's probably directed at the other person sorry. :X
