Hey, just decided to de-rustify myself and realized I've totally forgot everything I ever knew about anything. Took me forever to create a half pleasing outline of Mr John Locke, but now I have no idea where to go with the shading. I can't choose a nice palette, and I just wondered if anyone could help me with tips on how I should go about shading him.
Needs more twitching-on-the-ground-after-being-plowed-over-by-Desmond.
Also, looking good.

ooooh I love Desmond me.
Does anyone have any good tutorials on shading?
Your skin palette is a bit redundant and low on contrast. You should go for a darker "darkest shade"/ brighter "brightest" shade to increase the range. Can't help you as much for shading though, I'm bad at explaining this kind of stuff

you're taking the colors right from the reference image. thats not going to work.
