I'm afraid this is begging to be quoted out of context forever.
Also, I don't mean to be really anal, but isn't the teenagers with ridiculous weaponry + monotonous grinding more of a jRPG thing? I mean plenty of western rpgs require griding but I think the HAPPY GO LUCKY TEENAGER SAVES THE WORLD is more of a japanese thing. :c
I do like the idea of the whining/pouting mechanic but it really doesn't strike me as something worth making a
whole game out of
I was also tempted to say something about grinding girls but resisted, you can to.
I try to lower expectations every time I post \o/

Monotonous grinding shows up in all RPGs, Japanese or otherwise, unfortunately. Characters in WRPGs have a whole bunch of other design tropes (especially when dealing with rogues and/or wizards), but WRPGs don't feature on the DS too often. The last one that did was Sonic Chronicles, and the less said about that game, the better. I tried to get into them myself, but I made the bad choice of playing Neverwinter Nights first.
IMO, MWMW should have had a system where you gained the ability to Pout in response to the bullshit you put yourself through. If you're gonna be crazy enough to jump head-first into difficult battles and heavy item collecting, the ability to circumvent it should be a reward, not a necessity.
That's a much better idea actually. If you start getting your ass handed to you, POUT CHARGE.
I know what it means; that post was NOTHING but advertising; and you menazed me to lock my EBX topic just because of a little text link. LOL HIPOCRESY.
you spelled "hypocrisy" wrong, gg
He linked to a blog that has the exact same content as the topic at hand.
Yeah advertising. Pff.
Tyvonnosaurus, I already said my english is not that good. I wonder why I'm not banned yet xD.
Bad english is no excuse. Dictionary.com is your friend. |D
now gtfo and stop bringing this thread down.
game looks pretty interesting, actually. i like shiny new ideas.
Seems interesting but Pout should have unpredictable effects sometimes, just to throw a wrench into the plans of the player, or have unpredictable effects in battle.
Much like Paula's Prayer command in Earthbound in normal battles.
Pout should only be used as a last resort.
If you don't like the teenagers w/ heavy weaponry, Play the Shin Megami Tensei Series (Not the spinoffs) I mean the original SNES Games and Nocturne for PS2. Those games makes lighthearted RPG's like this mere child's play.

Every review in my blog has been posted here FIRST. The blog is an archive.
Please get the fuck out of my thread.

I wonder the same question. Funny how I also have the ability to answer it.
I might try this game (and rip the 2d elements off of it) if I had a working emu or import it when I have the moneh.
Groove, this might just be my opinion but your reviews seem to have a wonderful way of turning me
off from a game. At first you make me seem interested, but then it's almost as if you're telling me that it's not worth it. I don't know why, but maybe you should tune down on the negative comments unless the game really deserves it.
Really. I'm glad you didn't review anything like Galaxy or Twilight Princess when they came out, or I might have not gotten them.
