Hey Iceman, I know it sometimes feel like everyone's ganging up on you, but try to ignore anyone who acts like a jerk. Either take insults with a sense of humor, or act indifferent towards them. Focus on your spriting, since it's pretty obvious you've got some potential here, despite what everyone is trying to say.
As for the sprites themselves, I think they look nice. It's an interesting idea too. Problem is that these sort of poses worked in 8-bit due to the limitations, but your heavily-detailed sprites make the flaws evident. And it's not your fault. This is inherent to the sprite. However, if you try taking a more creative stance and try expanding on the original sprite - adding shoulders, fixing the position of the hands, re-checking lightsources -, this should come off as pretty neat.

I love how everyone decides to thank a post even when they thank another post that says the exact opposite.
As for the sprites, I really like the colors, but everyone's right about the pose, even if the idea was a good one.
