well i tried using the colors from the original SNES sprite but it turned they were really oversaturated and lacking contrast.

the Genesis ones, on the other hard(and just like a lot of genesis sprites) was oversuing black outlines, and black in general. welp!

all in all, i dont think that just reworking the snes sprite's clothing might work. the whole character's desging changed, and while it still has some features from the original, the new one seems to be a bit more mature than the 16bit incarntion.
Well the game IS set 15 years after the last one.
We'll have to see. Right now I'm finishing up the sprite rip for Sparkster The pallet I'm going to use is a mix between the official pallet and that custom pallet I have on there.
You can't make the new Sparkster using the old sprites as a base. You'll get better results if you make it by scratch.

And that includes the palette too.

Oh well I finished the rip.
funny thing i was editing the main character from tales of phantasia into sparkster the other day to prove that sprite edits can spawn good things.
