Well, I decided to take a break from my recent large-scale pixel art craze and return to my roots with game-style Fakemon. I didn't like the way some of my older sprites looked, so I decided to redo them, using what I've learned about higher spriting techniques.

My water-type starter line used to look like this. Not only was I not very fond of the spriting job, the lower two forms look like Croconaw knock-offs, and the final form looks nothing like the creature it's based on (baryonyx).

(Plus random crappy shiny forms.)

I decided to revamp their designs and sprite their new look in more of a D/P style:

Names are Allorive, Dreonyx, and Glydrosher.


I also redid the final evo of my grass starter: Serpentyll

Old sprites of Grass starter line:

The first form is facing too awkwardly, the second is made of fail, and the third...is just sort of floating there, and it's wing structure is incorrect, based on my design drawings of him.

I already had redone Serpentyll, but now I have Grasler and Lizinthis too.

Was going through some old sprites and decided to do another DS-style revamp. Only this time I chose what was easily my worst sprite from my '05-'06 era of spriting.

I had been reluctant to redo it because of how difficult it had been, but with a tablet and 80x80 pixels to work with, it was much easier.

The sprites are pretty good. I think you might want to consider a color change though.

Ah, this reminds me of when I was inventing my own version of shitty pok'emon ripoffs, called Unitmon. Good times, good times...

Some of the names are clumsy sounding, but the sprite work is good. I'd like to see something that's not a dinosaur though.
