Doesn't look too bad how it is. Maybe needs a little more on the left most side, perhaps a highlight somewhere?

dithering usually helps. treat hair not as a big clump, but as a large collective of individual pieces and strands. similar to bricks, accentuate the strands - but don't overdo it. it isn't necessary to show all of the strands of hair, just those that matter.
