I've been using midnight (the dark blue/purple one, i think thats its name) for like years
and to be honest, i don't really care for the new fangled homogenized themes
Are they really dissapeared, or just missing for me?
I feel your pain, they removed the Hello Kitty theme that I used after losing a bet years ago.

I'd just like to point out that I had nothing to do with the removal of that theme and would have fought to keep it had I been around at the time!
Is there any chance at getting the Christmas skin back since it's not an old theme?
Did you guys really just get rid of the Pixeltendo skin? :U
I hear ya when you're saying there was trouble with the skin, but why not have just updated the skin so it looked like all the other ones we have at some point?

That one isn't gone, just hidden. My original intention was to only make it available from December 15 to January 15 or so. We didn't get around to hiding it, partially out of forgetting and partially because people asked us to keep it year round but we decided to hide it today as we were cleaning out the old skins. It will make its return next Christmas though.

We did. Updating that skin to make it match the rest of them isn't really something that was feasible. It was heavily edited from a downloaded skin and modifying it would have taken far too much time. That being said, while it's gone and not likely coming back, we do intend to provide an alternative using the new templates at some point soon. There is definitely demand for a dark skin and we hear it, we just don't have the time to devote to making it at the moment.

oh
thanks
it's not like i spent weeks working on that skin or anything
oh well, let's hope the next skin is "The BoHeGeHa Resource"
First and foremost, this wasn't a spur of the moment, "screw anyone who doesn't think like us" decision. We actually checked each theme we removed for the number of people using them and more specifically in the case of PT, who those people were. There were 16 people who had that theme set and of those 16, maybe 5 who were active users. So actually, you were right in your sarcastic comment - statistically speaking, no one used it.
With that out of the way, if you really want specifics, the template code was a mess. Generally, edits are indeed as simple as copying from one template to another but that is generally made easier when the code is consistent across those themes. The main theme and the four site-specific themes all work on the same templates. The Christmas theme is an exact duplicate of those templates but separate in order to be able to modify some of the core elements of the board (like the header). The archived themes had 3 sets of templates with PT making a 4th and they were all significantly different. We actually did try to incorporate our changes into them yesterday but where it took just a couple of minutes on the new themes, altering the old ones was taking much longer due to the number of half-completed edits left in them.
So, next time you think it might be a good idea to start flinging accusations in a public forum, why don't you stop and gather some facts first. This was not a personal attack against you, nor was it done just for the fun of it or because we're lazy. The purpose of yesterday's changes were to unify the systems we have in place to manage various aspects of the site and trying to bring the old themes in line with the new ones was going against that purpose the more time we put into it, especially given that there were almost no users on those old themes.
The legacy of this place isn't in a skin, it's in its members. We've thrown nothing away, simply brought everything up to date.
Oh. Okay. I realized how stupid my post was halfway so I blanked it. ):
Thanks for the specifics though, at least! No, seriously - I posted kinda brashly, and that's more or less all I was looking for at least.
eh though i didn't really initially take it as a personal attack, more like a forcible nail in the coffin to the literal end of what's left of PT. maybe i took the initial shock a BIT too close to heart, oopsie and i sincerely apologize for my outburst there, petie

here's the thing: most of them are gone. that's more or less all we had left.
for reference, check SOL: The Game. Literally 3/4 of the characters used in the game, based on member refs, no longer post here. It was a nice reminder - at least I can fall back on that for now :/
(but no seriously do consider making the next Apart skin resemble BoHeGeHa - I'll even lend my working knowledge on the forum themes to help out if needed)
How are the themes programmed anyway?
If its just a matter of keeping things simple, like if I could swap out pictures and it'd be consistent, then I might have to make a Hello or Halo Kitty theme.
That's due to the error we ran into last night and your browser caching the incorrect redirect. Clearing your cache should fix it.
I overlooked a few sprites on Strength Sr.'s PSX Sprite Sheet. Could you replace the one I uploaded in the past with the
proper sheet?
