I keep accidentally calling him Tempig because I think "Temperature".
So I saw Snivy
I thought about Snake + Ivy
but now I'm also seeing Snide + Ivy
I'm liking the latter case for the name.
What about Slivy? Slither + Ivy or Sly + Ivy. Slivy was what i was hoping for before these names came up. I'm surprised how close I got with that one.
Snivy works well, I can deal with Tepid, but seriously seriously oshawotthefuck???
Basically what Arthur said. I like Snivy a lot, actually. It's starting to grow on me. Tepid is okay, but I think there could be better names, but I really really really hate that Oshawott.
I liked how Wotter sounded :<
The only reason that I can come up with a reason for it to be named Oshawott would be maybe "ocean" (osha) and water/otter (wott)?
I was waiting for that, Devi.
The name was designed for me to poke fun at I'm quite sure.

Just like someone claimed how Snivey sounded like Snively? Yeah, I can see a whole slew of hilarious names in the future.
Is Tepig supposed to be pronounced as "Tee Pig" or "Teh Pig"?
Um.
Considering it's quite obviously a pun on 'tepid', it would be the latter pronounciation you suggested.
there's gotta be a good reason for the "oshaw" bit
but
dammit I can't figure it out and this bothers me hnnnnnnnnggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh
Apparently Oshawa is some sort of fur trade route, so I've been told.
B-b-b-but 8-11 species of otters are endangered. Trading the fur of an otter would be extremely illegal.
I watched a special on otters one night at 3 a.m.
Cause I love them.
Isn't Oshawa a city in Canada that has a bunch of Otter reserves?
It also references some guys name iirc
