30 seconds oh no you poor baby
goes back to the loading screen in modnation racers that's been going for the past minute and is still only at 60%
I'm getting some pretty shitty load times for modnation too

because who fucking gives a shit about loading times. "BAWWW I NEED TO WAIT MORE THAN 3 SECONDS TO PLAY THIS NEXT LEVEL THIS SUCKS"

i distinctly remember me and you complaining about Modnation's loading times.
wopp u lumpin pile of fudge..................................
Sonic CD, specifically the PC version. The Sega CD version had an excuse: CD drives were new and still fairly slow for data reads. However, there was no reason for the PC version to have just about the same loading time regardless of hardware.

someone just complained about a two minutes loading time and you're complaining the four second loading time of Sonic CD? jesus fucking christ
metal gear solid 4 could've done a lot better, now that i think about it

a ten minute initial install, five minutes to install one chapter at a time, and you've still got loading screens between maps and cutscenes

no dude the pc version is pretty awful about loading
at least, mine is

any time you time travel, it plays that 10 second cutscene with sonic flying upwards while it's loading, and then directly after that it throws about a 20 or so second loading screen at you

it also loads between acts and levels obviously, so it loads a lot

edit- i mean yeah, compared to two minutes that's relatively tame, but it's still pretty annoying

That sounds rather unfortunate. At least the game itself is good, right?

It's not loading time in total that annoys me. It's the fact that even with a faster CD ROM drive, processor, memory, etc, it still takes a long time to load. It has a long loading time even when the data files are on hard disk. It's almost like the game timer effects the speed of loading so that no matter how fast your machine, it will always load around the same speed.

Plus the topic is "Games that irritate you because of long loading times" not "The most irritating loading time". So bite me. Tongue
actually darkwolf is correct
even if you do a full install and copy all the game files directly to the hard disk or even run the game from an iso, it's still incredibly slow
it's just as slow on modern computers as it was back on my windows 95 machine.
