also @dazz, what do you mean "like every other strong main character game," have you ever really seen anything as so joyfully flat-out ridiculous (and pretty obviously doing it on purpose, to great effect) as this
i seriously can't think of anything to compare this to
Devil May Cry and God of War are pretty quick to come to mind... You seriously can't tell me God of War is not over the top? Sure it was awesome, but it's getting very stale, very quickly. Also, every other half-arsed shitty anime series on TV.
Like, honestly, ok it may be a parody to some extent, but it seriously does not look like it's making much of a parody out of it. It in fact just looks like a normal thing, which if it is a parody, they're failing to make it funny... like, at all...
uhhh I played devil may cry and god of war and i remember slashing guys with swords and shooting dudes with handguns, not powering through getting tons of spears chucked at you and grabbing giant stone pillars and ramming through crowds of people at high speed?? i'm not really getting how you're not seeing that this is kind of on a completely different scale
also I'm not sure why you're comparing actions in a game to actions in a tv show?? it's kind of different to do something vs. watching it
I'm not really getting how you think it's on a completely different scale. Just because the weapons are different doesn't mean the game is really that much more unique. "Beat the fuck out of armies of minions." Sounds pretty the same.
that's what you do in bayonetta
is it a GoW clone?
but "beat the fuck out of armies of minions" is an extremely vague and broad term
applied correctly, this could be used to describe games such as mario, sonic, and any FPS ever
or more appropriately, any RTS ever

Actually, game's like Devil May Cry and God Of War are almost completely different. Breaking down the combat in DMC, the game almost completely revolves around it, with 90% of your additional abilities serving to enhance your combat abilities. God of War may have a similar 'combat rating' system, but the combat is majorly focused on fighting larger enemies, and serves more as a means of showing off the power of the character.
Bayonetta is the DMC model taken to it's logical conclusion, the whole game revolves 100% around combat, with your rating in combat solely determining your end level rating, how fast you gain money and what abilities you have access to. It also has a deeper combat and combo system than either two of the other examples.
I never mentioned any of those games. My reply was directed at the "scale" of the Ashura's Wrath supposedly being above what we've previously seen in similar titles. Which it hasn't yet demonstrated.
It actually looks like it is, but you probably aren't paying attention.
Maybe the game needs a little more "moe"??
Well that would help, yes.
God of Moe: Wrath of Ashura-sama

at least he's honest
Just wanna point out Dazz was right about the sf4 thing.
But yeah this is ridiculous, looks cool though.
But it really isn't out of the ordinary, even with space buddah.
