Draco's were the same species.
Hm. Oh didn't know they were the same species. Yeah that probably wouldn't work in the Nidoran way.
@redblueyellow: I was thinking about an Ice type snow hare before. AS for the fish, we sorta have something going on like that already with the Sea Anemone and the Clown Fish.

My question is why would a leech evolve into Cthulu? Wouldn't it make more sense for a Squid to evolve into Cthulu?
Part leech, part maggot. Cthulu was processed into the name. It represents Cthulu barely, but they are both absolute monsters.

Oh? Speaking of which, how did you like the clownfish sketch I posted a few pages earlier? I'm interested in hearing a bit more in terms of deliberations. Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a Pushy Patty!
I like the Clownfish design, it could be a potential candidate for the Goldeen/Magikarp, but that's all up for discussion.
(Just a progress update.)
Loving the water starter sprite, not so much the fire. I dunno, I think it looks awkward with its arms sticking out like that.
I feel the same. I'm starting over with the ram, so hope second times the charm.
EDIT:
I think the tail looks pretty nice. And which eye do you think should be used?
As far as names, how about something like "Squirman." (Squirt + Desman) I assume that he'll be launching some sort of liquid from that snout of his.
Squirt has already been done with Squirtle.
That and Squirman sounds more like a pretty dodgy superhero.
I like the eye open, and the tail looks good but I think it's positioned a little bit too high up on the first sprite. But we probably shouldn't use "squirt" in the name because that what Squirtle was based off of.
Also I had an idea for a Rock type (possibly Rock/Ice or Rock/Normal) based off of a mountain goat, as well as an actual mountain. It'd be very large (like 20-25 feet tall) and shaped like a normal goat. But it's shoulders and back would have a mountain range int hem, with peaks and cliffs and such. it's be very stocky with strong and powerful build (which mountain goats actually are, as seen here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_goat). Rock type because its a Mountain, Ice type because of snowy peaks, and Normal because, being a goat, it seems like it would fit along with other hoofed normal types like Tauros, Miltank, Stantler, Girafarig, and Sawsbuck.
I just thought of a name for the fire starter
Pyram, from PYRo and RAM.
As for the Desman:
Desmoist: DESMan and MOIST
I'll see if I can think of more names later. Oh, and I would be happy if someone were to work a little more on our mammal Poké, the Capbara.
I do like the idea of a new shark
I have two ideas
1st: Whale Shark; I guess a very simple design...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whale_shark
for those who want a better look....
2nd: Goblin Shark; Goblin Sharks can extend their jaws, so I thought, why not make them have a "tounge" thing like in the Alien Movies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goblin_shark
for reference (it says it has protrusable jaws)
about the desman: I think that the desman should be redone. I do believe that someone stated that the starters have big heads, so it having a head that is like a kirby with feet and a tail doesn't fit the starter theme). its up to you guys, but yeah, maybe make it another ball infront of the body, and make the body a little thinner, just a suggestion.
Embaa for Fire Starter 2011.
oh, and by the way, desmans are a type of water mole, so I do think it might be blind, just a thought....

Well I'm not sure about having it resemble a clown. Pokemon don't usually have appearance quirks based on their names due to this being a multicultural franchise. Basically a clownfish isn't called a "clownfish" everywhere and therefor people wouldn't get the joke. Eh I know it sounds picky but I kind of want to follow in GameFreaks roots.
*slaps forehead*
Wow, I completely forgot about that when I designed it!
