I love the idea of the flamingo. Originally I was going to do something with those lawn flamingo things, but this is a much better idea.

There doesn't seem like there is a real change in the design, other than him being upright and sporting long claws. Perhaps if you did something clever with the tail?
So what about my ram drawing? Do you like it?
If we are portraying the aspects of a fire truck onto the desman I think it's tail should go up along it's back, kind of like Skuntank, and have the lines evenly spaced horizontally along the tail so it looks like a ladder, and it's cheeks could flash red when it is angry or excited perhaps.
Also, for this generation I think we shouldn't have the worm Pokémon like Caterpie and Weedle because they had them in every odd numbered generation. We should have Pokémon like Ledyba and Spinarak.
I don't know, I like the 2nd evolution Desman. He's now upright with long claws, but that's not much less of a difference between Charmander and Charmeleon, since in that evolution, he just gets a bit bigger, grew a thing on his head and turned darker.
I dislike the idea of making it like a fire engine. It seems very... un-Pokemon. It's a more Digimon thing to do.
Ike: better clouds! try increasing the contrast a bit, and blending the colors on the clouds more. o/
on the 2nd stage desman:
i tried a zigzag pattern even before coloring it. it just didn't look right. made it look really flat.
i'll try the star pattern on the cheek, though!
I think our fire starter should be one of those pokemon that is able to switch from a biped to a quadruped, like the Cyndaquil line.
try giving the desman whiskers, and something on its head?
I like the second picture of the ram in Sengir's last post. It looks more carefree and the orange clouds look better on the Pokemon as a whole
I was thinking for the legendaries:
-Legendary Pokémon, like Ho-oh, Lugia, Groudon, Kyogre, Palkia, Dialga, Reshiram and Zekrom, those that appeared on boxes (with the exception of Suicune), I had an idea for the following:
A. Individual Pokémon: Representing the strength of being unique, talents that makes you stand out in the masses, the power of the individual.
B. Team Player Pokémon: Representing the strength of friendship, being able to rely on people you can trust as they trust you, the power of the team player.
Being strong by yourself without friends make you a loner and someone antisocial, while relying to much on your friends make you a sponge and weak by yourself, lacking identity.
When you are strong as both an individual as a team player, nothing can keep you from furfilling your dreams!
As for the roaming Pokémon, I've been working on the Rock Paper Scissors idea, though I have trouble getting the Types balanced.
I have no pictures yet, but this is what I have:
Paper (unnamed)
Canvas Pokémon
This represents the window in which can be created.
Rock (unnamed)
Material Pokémon
This represents the building blocks that form creation.
Scissors (unnamed)
Tool Pokémon
This represents the utilities that help shape creation.
You may have noticed that these Pokémon represent creativity. I had Fight in mind for Rock (Fight beats Steel), and Steel for Scissors, but I have trouble getting the right type or type combination for Paper. The current designs I have are based on flight-less birds (the paper one is based on a crane, though it cannot fly).
I hope this triggers inspiration in some and that this info is useful for this project.
Anyone else think that the 3rd Fire Starter doesn't like it'd be a starter?
I mean, look at the Grass one... not quite up with....

I think he means the Ram doesn't really belong. And I kind of agree. It doesn't quite match the grass one, and the water one seems to look like an after-thought.
But I have to say, I do like the second evolution of the water one!
I kind of don't like the Fire Starter that much, but mostly just because of the way it had two sets of wool (the waist and the torso). I think the on the torso makes it look like it's choking a bit, and its arms wouldn't be able to move much. but having just the bottom part would look like a diaper, which would be kind of silly. The exposed midriff seems very odd to me too. I think it's body should one big ball of fluff like Mareep, or it shouldn't have that wool at all (do rams even have wool? I thought that was sheep?)

Rams are un-castrated male sheep, so technically, it should have wool.
Hey can you guys do me a favor? There have been lots of popular suggestions made that I have missed. If you guy could point out the ones you like that aren't your own I think that would help me.
Why can't you point out your own ideas? Well I want the community to tell me whether an idea is good or not, so to have a second opinion on something would be great.
Take a look at the first post for everything that already has my attention.
my post should have all of the suggestions made in this thread
whoops, just as I say that I remember more
