That is an improvement, you know. I recommend smoothing your lines out, too. Kirby is looking a little square.
What does this read as to you guys?
Its supposed to be a Chess Pawn kind of guy.
If it's a pawn, I'd shorten the legs and make them straighter. That way it'll emphasise the body shape more, and make it look less like a sprite for the ladies' toilets.
Hmm, how about this then?
First =>
<= Now
I'm afraid to shorten the torso, because the arms are stubs to begin with.
It's overdetailed and lightsource is upleft. I suggest you make your own thread rather than here at the Reworkshop thread.
Reworked this old thing to match the guy's newer design.
Posting this here too. It's from a Beat 'em Up/Platformer game I've been working on. The background hasn't been a priority just yet, but I will get to that soon.
Inazuma style
I did not create this character ( I made this for my friend~ )
Bawmp.
I wanted to play around with shading but I don't think it turned out all that well??
The lineart is fine IMO but I'm a bit concerned about how the shading is placed.
Mario's shading has always confused me.
Back on TSR of old, we used to have a really handy thread that was just unfinished/finished/retired linearts. It was a good place to get short critiques or just generally work on your line comprehension/spacing.
So I'm..bringing that back...
i don't have anything new to post, so here, have this, it's really bad
also requesting a sticky!
The Reworkshop Thread is basically the same thing so I'll merge them~
oh, was this already stickied, too..
almost done, was wondering if there was anything i could change
that is quite experimental so there's not much to discuss imo. Maybe in terms of design, you could make the bg like a spotlight (light circle in a dark bg) to further emphazise the character, but that's it. Nice texturing by the way!
The mouth reminds me of Yoshi's Island
