They should it's part of the stance, he looks more intimidating.

Well, I checked some spriting stances (i.e Ryu) and they didn't move the feet that much. I could be wrong though.

Feet tend to move up and down (bounce - like), rather than spreading them apart :E

Not for MLSS things. The feet are fine as they are for this style.
