He would fall under his own category like ShadowKami said, but, in-game, he'd be in the Mario world since they share the same universe.

Yea but technically: In case of future sprites from the DK series.. It'd be best to seperate the categories. However, DK can be placed in the mario universe for now
(And sorry i haven't respond much lately but i'll still be working on the sprites for the project )

The sword's grip is really wide and circular. I'd make it a bit thinner so it looks longer.
Personally I'd say that Angent Frank whoever's head should be moved to the right by one pixel (along with the detail on his chest, dunno how it's called), he looks like he's leaning to his right or back. The brown line next to that detail-on-his-chest looks odd to me, too, I'd remove it. His left eye looks way too thin, being only one third of the other.
The highlight on Mago's head looks somewhat jumpy on the fireball throwing animation, like it's much bigger on one frame. Plus on another frame, the line between hood and foehead is lost. (Yes I noticed these two in the animation, before checking the frames on the sheet)

For the fireball, i think you could squash/stretch it more during hte animation
here it pretty much maintains a constant shape and volume, but bear in mind that fire doesn't actually do that
atm it looks more like a blob of slime bouncing than a fireball

Looks much better to me!
Fifth row, last sprite kinda has a pixel missin at the top of his left eye, though.
His hair outline seems to break oddly at the strands on his forhead on several frames, not sure if that'll look good when animated or whether it may stick out.

Good lord! I see you've made some wicked progress since I last looked through this thread. Kudos, Smithy. I'm not sure how I can be of help, but I offer it. Mega Man and Castlevania are possibly my fave franchises....
