Uhhh, Gors? I think you should upload them elsewhere that there aren't as many ad-attacks as Mediafire, as I am experiencing with right now. Either that or my comp sucks.

Loving the boss music Gors.

I couldn't help but think that the ground tiles should look more like this instead.

This is the real last song. I swear.

this plays after you reach the highscore and die. The mugshots come scrolling from below to show the cast and the creators of the game etc.
and a small update on the CD cases
That's it, all the graphics/music are done, we just need to put this to work

That song is so beautiful...
... and I'm still unreliable...
but I'll get some stuff done

major update for those who couldn't listen to all songs for whatever reason;
http://www.4shared.com/dir/2tAsLlx4/SOL_...TRACK.html
here's the whole soundtrack in a single link. How convenient is this?
also here are the real, last graphics. I shuffled some pixels here and there.
I now want to see actual progress on this; I fear about this ending up like TSRODIUS after all this work :C

What needs to be done currently?
03-28-2011, 01:21 AM
When I say I want to work more on it, I do mean it. I just wish I wasn't so easily distracted...
But, if anyone wants what I currently have, I can upload the current GM7 file (I don't remember, but I think I might be using a reg-only function here or there).
Current features:
- SOL
--- Walking and jumping
--- Climbing
- Level
--- Adjustable autoscrolling
--- VERY basic generation (that is, just generates a plain, flat level)
Yeah, not that much right now. I remember paintbrush attacks and enemies were next on my to-do list.
After that, I was going to try tackling the random-level generation. This part needs to be thoroughly discussed first, since platform level generation is pretty tough and a relatively rare feature; we have to figure out what kind of levels we want it to generate, as well as what sorts of obstacles and features we want in the levels.
I suppose more gameplay things (like pickups, boss rooms, etc.) can be added in after that.
Though, now that I look back at that list, it'd probably be a good idea to do the level generation first, or at least get a rudimentary version running, before moving on to include the attacks and enemies. This is so we can also more easily add the enemy and item spawning pieces.

what I can suggest is to make predefined pieces of ground and make them to appear randomly, one at a time. Think on tetris, but instead of controlling the pieces, you walk on them
also please post the engine as it is now, so people can test it/improve it if possible. You can still continue working on other elements though c:

Includes both an executable and the GM7 file.
EDIT: hah, since my arrow keys are broken, I have IJKL for moving around. X is jump, C is planned for attacking, and Z is planned for pausing.
