nope, its not selout. its simply that even when they are constructed as individual objects they have to be shaded as a single entity. otherwhise they will always look like flat stickers pasted on top of each other.
My god that Onix
These are looking good, keep it up
Back with more sprites, Jasmine turned out great, I'll try to do something about those "flat" looking boulders sometime (and looking at it, i should add about another pixel of thickness to Bellsprout.)
@Murderbeard: This helps me out plenty, I edited your Eevee a little bit, it looks better than my original attempt. (I see now that i messed up Eevee's tail again too.)
@Blaziquaza: Thank you for mentioning that, i've been looking over this sheet dozens of times but i guess i didn't see it, I beefed Charizard up a bit but he's still kinda small (must be Ash's Charizard.)
I haven't went and looked at any of the new B&W pokemon so this was my first time seeing rankurusu (
may be a bit too small) and gochiruzeru (she was kinda hard to make honestly), i'll finish kurumiru next along with whatever else i decide to make.
And if you guys would like to see a pokemon or character/npc trainer, let me know. (just, try to keep it down to 2-3)
You should get some Shoalgun action going, by the way these are very nice, if I had to say one thing, the gothic looking pokemon looks a bit static, but that might be how she's supposed to be, I just thought I'd mention that.
I came into this topic not expecting a whole lot.
I was pleasantly surprised.
Red's pants look really off, though. I think you could do without a lot of the knee shading. Not all of it-- but it definitely shouldn't connect into the back leg like that. Not with such dark shades.
requesting brendan, dawn, and kris
and of course wailord
wailord is mandatory
May I request Rayquaza and Aggron though?
Yep, I was saying keep the requests down to 2-3 per person, so i'll take care of Rayquaza and Aggron after vipershark's request....including Wailord
.
So I made another small handful of pokemon (Raichu has been one of my favorite pokemon since I was a kid) I'm getting quicker at making the bigger pokemon (like shoalgun), and the tiny ones take but 5-8 minutes to create (Kurumiru, Weedle, and Caterpie in particular).
I changed the shading on Red and Green's pants, it looks a little bit better, Gochiruzeru (gothic pokemon) is kinda lifeless/dull looking to begin with. I got rid of that jagged line on Dragonite's neck, that was bothering me after I noticed it.
Thanks again for the feedback guys I appreciate it.
mandatory "white is my waifu" request
This is everything I ever wanted in a pokemon project, though I do think that some the smaller pokemon could be better
I think Shoulgun's body might be a bit thick.
One or two pixels should trim it down to size.
THAT DRAGONITE♥
that's just made my day, it looks awesome!
The only thing I see that could be fixed on Gochiruzeru is that it's lips are usually fatter.
<----like this. Otherwise, it's great.
May I suggest pelipper and kokoromori?
Phew, i'm startin to feel a little burn in mah eyeballs, but i'm completely hooked to spriting right now, I was listening to some pokemon music while spriting and I must say, pokemon has some truly great soundtracks. Listening to Cianwood city got me a little choked up to be honest.
What i'm going to do from now on is add a Request/To Do list on the 1st page so I can keep track of the requests better (and you guys can follow the progress as well)
Without further ado here's another installment of sprites
And here's a major work in progress Wailord (he's HUGE so i put him in spoiler tags):
Thank you Baegal, I tweaked Gochi's lips a bit, they look somewhat better I guess, I had some trouble making Gochiruzeru to begin with so i'm glad it came out as well as it did.
@Britt: Thanks for saying so, I thinned him down a bit so he should look better now.
@Delysid: Yep, i'll get to those after Rayquaza and Wailord
PS: happy birthday Metaru.
