This is for an adventure game. What do you think?
I'm not really sure how to describe what I was aiming for. A casual walk with a bit of mental forcefulness in it?
There's also this very early WIP jump animation that I made have 3 warm-up frames for some bizarre reason.
edit:
added more bounce to hair top. i should probably just rid of any sort of head tilting.
Sooyoung!
I think her hair feels a bit flat on top. I really like it, although I'm not sure if the angles of the head and body match.
Both walk cycles look natural, but that second one shows a level of forcefulness to it, I think.
And yeah, the top of her head is pretty flat. Sweet otherwise~
i love that jump animation, it's great!
as for the walking animation... i think that the farthest leg's articulation in the animation, and the way it moves when your character walks, seems unnatural: i've noticed it move forwards whilst staying vertical, whereas one usually flexes out the leg when making a step forward. i've also observed how far back it went, and that too caught my eye since it seems to get longer.
i don't have any program that'd allow me to a quick edit to solve this problem but i don't. i'll look for one in the meantime, but i hope you understand what i'm talking about, and if you agree with me, solve this problem!

Thats very smooth Thernz, I really dig it.
Oh man. Those are beautiful. I really like the character's design. And yeah... flat top
Nice walking animation. I want to see what more you can make of this.
I have to say, if all of your character animations are this great, Thernz, this is going to be one of the most beautiful adventure games I've seen.
I tried to fix the problems Chris2Balls mentioned. Not really sure if I did or not.
I also tried to make the top of her hair a bit less flat, probably obscured by all the bouncing.
Thanks for all the compliments too!
Dayum. I can't for the life of me find anything wrong with this version. I'm sure there are flaws, but they're so overshadowed by the beauty of the sprite that I have a hard time seeing any.
Awesome stuff, this is really great!
It's often hard to get a fluid and natural looking walk cycle, so good stuff.
I would have mentioned the same as C2B, but I think you've pretty much got it spot on.
right i've been having problems creating the gif so pardon me if it doesn't animate well...

Ah, okay gotcha!
Does this work?
it's better and it works, both legs make the same movement now.
what bothers me is how much the lower leg swings forward though, considering her stride.
