WOW ecelent!, BTW is there still a good amount left to rip?
I hate to hurt your feelings but the little guy I circled here...
...isn't actually unused.
It's actually used for this little guy...
I checked the ROM in Tile Molester and the head piece is part of it's tileset...
As for some of the others, I think for Serris, the sprites may have been for some swirling attack.
Well, deathbringer, as we're currently checking what IS what on this sheet...
According to Tile Molester, does the Shriekbat / Skree actually appear within the ROM? THe thing that looks like a hive? Is there anything on this sheet that is definitely bogus?
I'll check, it's going to take some time since I have to convert the palette's address to decimal so Tile Molester only accepts that.
As of now I've found everything on the sheet within the rom. except the grub under the scientist, but I haven't finished looking. So they aren't bogus.
Oh, and that hive thing belongs with the kihunter, makes a little sense since kihunters have a thorax (I think that's what it's called) with a stinger.

well, as for the motos, the dudes with the mask, it was unused without the mask, I have tried to take off the mask, but I couldn't figure out how thus making it unused. as for the ki hunter hives, the ki hunters are actually those red things that dry up or die or whatever when you beat zazabi, once when you reach the part with yakuza, the spider boss, the ki hunters appear and whats left of the red things is a skeletal structure like thing so those hives were going to be for the ki hunter, but they weren't. they needed the ki hunters to come out of a cocoon-like thing before they turn into a skeletal like thing to block the way to yakuza in case someone tried to get to yakuza early. hope that made sense.......

yes, there is still a lot left that I couldn't find. still some enemies I couldn't find.
Yes, but those hives didn't exist in
Super Metroid, which is where the KiHunters first appeared... Maybe it's just the X factor

maybe...XP
The kihunters also had a different mouth in Super, where it was like a mosquitos, but it could be an aesthetic change, like how Zero looks different between Megaman X and Megaman Zero.
And there is another unused sprite I just notice with the kihunter...
...they're under the flame tiles. Little flys...okay, little kihunters.
The way it's presented, they start off as the red insects. Those become cocoons and eventually become kihunters, that's a given. After its metamorphosis it's probably reproduces with a hive and those little kihunters become big kihunters.
The hive could have been inspired by Metroid Prime, I mean it was in develop before Fusion was.

wow, I had missed something that I had all along. I had the same Idea when I saw the hives, It reminded me of the warwasps.
War Wasps?
! That give me ideas...
lemme guess... someone could make a sheet with this hive along with war wasps with it. so it could be made for a sheet for prime or prime 2.
Is... you... a mind-reader?
Um, yeah. That would be a good idea. They would first have to recolor it, of course, 'cuz I don't remember the War Wasp Hives ever being green...
There were I think 2 palettes associated with the kihunter, the other would make the hive brownish. Would that work?
I felt like editing this post instead of making a new one.
maybe... yea! that be awesome, we would have to use some other colors as you know, the hives in both games aren't just brown, such as golden rod. a dark brown would be good for prime 2, with a dim blue light inside.
It would've been to see it in MP2D, too bad they stopped making it
Meh. And now their forums are being raided by outsiders, stealing their sprites and whatnot for their own projects. Sad...
Still, MP2D ain't the
only good Metroid fangame in the works. Check out
AM2R and
Metroid: SR388. EPIC.
