Also I don't know if anyone said it or nto but all the NA launch titles absolutely BLOW. There's not a single big name on the list, and buying anything else would be really risky. I'm not saying they are all bad games but all of them are really off the radar games, and probably for good reason. We'd have to wait until people actually play them to know if they are any good or not.
Still buying one this Friday though, whether the whole launch title line up is complete garbage or not.

Pilotwings 3DS is apparently pretty bad, from what I've heard-- so yeah.

Well I'm going to have to wait to have one, which is fine, but I'll still be excite to get one when I finally do.

I'm getting Resident Evil as my first choice and and still undecided on my second.
Ridge Racer or DoA?
I heard Ridge Racer is fun but it looks like complete shit, graphically
I haven't heard anything bad about DoA but I'm not really enough into fighting games to justify it as my second choice.

DOA is an incredibly hit or miss series in general. It's fun but it doesn't hold a candle to other 3D fighters like Tekken or Virtua Fighter.
That being said, the chances of me getting DOA: D are still very high, as my lack of a 360 made me miss out on DOA4.

there's next to zero chance of me ever getting steel diver, but i just heard that it's first party
i'd assumed it was just shovelware
is it actually any good at all?

I watched a video on Steel Diver from a person who got their hands on a 3DS and said game early.
It seems pretty interesting, and it was based upon an earlier design program for the regular DS initially if I recall correctly.
But, based on what was shown in the video, it doesn't seem like its worth full price admission.
Here's the vid if you are interested:

The general consensus I can find through reviews is that:
1) SSFIV on the 3DS has poor backgrounds, some "off" controls (subjective since the 3DS really doesn't have layout best for fighting controls), and one review lists the game eating up the 3DS battery faster than other 3DS games.
2) Pilotwings is too short and has poor replay value. It's probably good to rent first or at least wait for a price drop.
3) Steel Diver is also too short and certain gameplay segments are too slow as if Nintendo was trying to artificially expand gameplay time. This one is sounding like a rent or wait for a price drop as well.
I was looking at getting a 3DS soon, but now it may be better to wait for the better games later.

I know I'll be getting Rayman 3D. Because for some reason I love sucking Ubisoft's member every time they rerererelease Rayman 2.

yay region protection...I will buy one because it has great graphics and im more into handhelds plus fucking PAPER MARIO
but definatly not at launch, id rather wait for more colors, better prices and some good games to come out. Also im ready for a new DS as I took perfect care of my original and never got a lite which I really wanted because it's so portable.
