It made sense to update 1st and 2nd gen because they allowed you to naturally catch those pokemon.

You can already transfer your stuff from RSE to the DS games.
plus gen 1/2 pokemon didn't have natures and the EV system was even more autistic
Also, some people can't transfer their pokemon because they dont have the original DS or DS Lite, so pokemon like treeko can't be obtained for them

dont care how old this post is but

i personally want to see it where you chose your initial (or maybe a randomly chosen) region, you explore it and fight the gyms/elite four of that region. after you beat that region the next regions' gyms and stuff are progressively stronger (because itd be ridiculous to have lv 75 pokemon after beating say.. johto and then going on to kanto and fighting lv 20 gym leaders), and maybe depending on the region you were "born" to or something a CRUISE SHIP TO KANTO or TO JOHTO or TO SINNOH or w/e (maybe the closest nearby region) would open up after beating that initial region.

idk but personally that is what id like to see
A game encompassing all regions just would never work. You Pokemon would all be max level by the 4th region and then there could be no difficulty progression, every battle after that would just be a boring lvl 100 gym leader thing.

UNLESS they had you keep your old pokemon stored until you had a badge high enough to control them, or they made your pokemon go back to a low level but with an IV and EXP bonus, that'd be cool. But it is kind of complicated.
They could just change the exp totals. The only thing bad about that is an 8th gym leader in the 20s...

1ST GEN

1ST GEN

And grinding would be horrid
level 9 pidgoto
maybe something like all Japan champion and then world champion
Considering each region has a league you'd have to be region champ
then japan champ
then world champ against some black American guy who treats pokemon like shit called Brian Hawk
Isn't anyone sick of Kanto already? We've spent 4 gens traveling it, enough is enough I say, the story is completed. There's nothing else to do there, HGSS was the climax and that was it. Evil teams is what made the plots in the first place, there'd be no way to revive all those plots back, especially at the same time.

However, if a new game starring Hoenn is featured, I would like to see something of a sequel, but my only issue is that it would bring back the horrors of zubat/geodude/tentacool crap the old games had that B/W had fixed. Sure RSE will be 10 years old next year, but Emerald felt like the last game of it. There's probably gonna be one anyway, just for the sake of soul dew and other items we haven't gotten yet. But I still feel RSE isn't that old yet for a remake, and like Vipershark mentioned, you can still transfer stuff from them, so they're still connected to the DS games much like FRLG is. Gamefreak can do whatever they want for cashcow, but for the sake of the series I'd like to see a new story.

Also as for the new game to be announced on May 21st, I'd want a Pokemon Snap 2, since it seems that B/W seems to be rebooting in a lot of aspects such as main games, tv anime, and movies, should do so in the spinoffs too, like Stadium. Whoever think it's gonna be some RSE remake or Grey is stupid imo, way too fucking early for that, B/W hasn't even been out a year yet in Japan.

Dude, there's been movies and new anime seasons for every gen.

Just so you know, the B/W movies are called Pokemon Best Wishes: The First Movie, along with their respective sub-titles. That's what I meant.
Oh, okay. That's kind of cool, I guess!
tbh I don't believe Gen V will be a very long one. The DS is over, at least for major titles. I'm pretty sure Nintendo's not gonna remake R/S/E for the DS at this point in the DS' life.

Now that leaves me wondering about Gen VI. I didn't think B/W did a good enough job rebooting the series. I mean, we could still move earlier Pokemon over (which isn't necessarily a bad thing for veterans), we could find most of the older Pokemon in swarms and shit (which i personally didn't like), and what really pissed me off was the stupid mini game-oriented dreamworld. I loathe break out, but when I played through it and found out the sphere gimmick and how I had to carefully plan out how to get Espeon I was especially livid.

So here's what I'd like to see in Gen VI (it's never gonna happen but I can dream~):
- 3D graphics for everything. As much as I like the sprites this would look better on the 3DS and would be more efficient (overworld and battle could be the same model)
- A new game in a new region taking place during Gen I/III chronologically instead of after Gen V. Route numbering starts after Johto's and there's a Battle Frontier that you can sail to but doesn't appear on the world map. Instead it takes a cue from the Entralink and combines B/W's online and multiplayer with the Battle Frontier. So it's sorta like an MMO.
- Free DLC instead of pre-loaded events. Something that Serebii.net won't hack and reveal months before the game hits America. Also keeps the games fresh and prevents the remake cycle from repeating too much, like adding the next bunch of Pokemon from Gen VII whenever that comes out.
- A rehash of Red and Green 1-2 years after the Gen VI launch title, but not another remake. Work heavily on the plot, add some secrets, don't try to cram in Johto Pokemon like FR/LG did, change everything. Sevii Islands can stay, but they'd need a major reconstruction along with the mainland. Kanto was supposed to be high-tech, why not actually make it high-tech? Kanto can be interesting again if done right. Also add the online Battle Frontier, it'd be cool
- Chronologically speaking, the next game is Ruby and Sapphire. Do the same thing with them, change the game to fit the new Gen I. Take elements from Emerald like HG/SS did with Crystal.

also i'm getting bored of typing but I think you get what i'm saying, restart Pokemon, make it better, etc
I wonder when Nintendo is going to give up and make the pokemon MMO
it'd be the most played game in history
