Yeah, despite my complaining, I honestly did enjoy the game. I think it was just some backlash given all the hype that was built up with the game. The only thing I REALLY don't like at all though, as I've said, is that final boss. I'm sorry but all the Sonic games seem to have some amazing final boss with amazing music. This one was a rather bothersome boss with... well, it wasn't bad music, but in my opinion, it lacked that certain vibe that a Sonic final boss theme usually has. Overall it was a rather forgettable fight. In other Sonic games, I find myself going back to fight the final boss over and over again. This one caused me to stop playing since I beat it. I really should get back to playing and try to knock out some of those missions.
EDIT- What the hell?
(possible spoilers)
I was watching a play through of the final boss to see if maybe I was doing something wrong. They guy playing threw the other Sonic and it targeted debris to take it out. I did the exact same thing when I fought him, but when I threw Sonic, he would fly off in a straight line, disappear (sometimes he's boomerang back to me) then respawn.
"SPIKES!"
Also here's my excuse for having 0 lives left -- perfection. When I miss something and have seemingly no way of going back to get it, I either start the stage over, or kill myself. Granted I may have lost a life or two normally but that's usually why I lose lives.
what in god's name is wrong with Shadow's voice
YEW GAT THEES SAWNIC
The new voices aren't the best yeah... the anime voices will always be the most fitting when you think about it.
You know a level's good when both versions of the level have collision problems.
Bump so that newbies don't make pointless topics.
Thoughts on the 3DS version?
The 3DS version is really fun, especially beating the crap out of players who think have mastered Green Hill Zone online.
Opponent rage quitting=satisfaction.
By the way, day 1 beaten final boss, day 2 got all S rank. I've yet to clear the last of the 100 missions.
Just post wathever you want as DLC, like playable characters and zones.
Heres what i want for DLC:
Ice Cap Zone
Cyber Track Zone
Aquatic Ruin Zone
Leaf Forest Zone
Green Forest Zone
I would adore music plant zone.
Here I am clicking this topic thinking: "Did I miss something?"
But then I saw it's just an 'I wish' topic.
Ice Cap should definately be there, even if it's just a snowboard minigame (Modern's would be Adventure style 3rd person, while Classic's would be 3&K style sidescrolling). I can imagine the Adventure snowboard theme being mixed with the classic Ice Cap theme for Modern, and an enhanced version of the classic Ice Cap theme for Classic.
I also demand a Metal Sonic skin for both Sonics!
I could see an Ice Cap snowboarding section, but the level would have to come from Sonic 3 as Speed Highway is already present.
It wouldn't have to be from sonic 3.
Casino night zone is already a DLC, while chemical plant zone is 1 of the zones which is in the game alone.
They could just go Mario Kart and make a new Ice Cap level for Generations that takes elements of all of them.
Fuck Ice Cap, Carnival Night is where it's at.
I don't even care if we already have Rooftop Run, Generations HD needs a bouncy level with bumpers and weird cylinder gimmicks.
BRING ON THE BARREL
Casino Night is not a stage though, it is a pinball mini-game that makes me completely weirded out by the idea that SEGA had that people would actually pay money to play a pinball game that has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the game.
It's almost like saying that Final Rush is in the game because of the Sonic and Shadow boss fight.
I don't think new zones for DLC will happen (I'm skeptical that new DLC will even happen), but they could re-use the assets for the Metal Sonic boss fight to make a Stardust Speedway level or something.
