I just want to play an new sonic sidescrolling thing, with not super powers, and just classic characters and trying to defeat Dr.Robotnik. I don't care if It's 3D as long has it has the same camera angle and no powers.
I think that everyone who wants to play a Sonic game that are like the old ones... is kinda sad, if you want to play a Sonic game like Sonic the Hedgehog 1 through 3, then pop the cartridge into your Genesis/NES/w.e it was for and play that
I like these new games because they add new things for Sonic games, unlike Mario games, which only add one insignifigant aspect that you probably could beat the game without...
no one can quote me on that >.>
^i am happy to say that i agree with you.
nothing else much to say.
If Sega did decide to release a massively-updated version of 1-3&k, they should do it all in one game (*cough*NewSuperMarioBrothers*cough*) and have them connected (you get some extra benefits for beating the game sequentially). I'd just want to see how Sega thinks hyper sonic should looks in 3d. My guess is glowing bright white with a color-shifting aura, black eyes, and hair that stands all the way up (as opposed to the shadow-haired super sonic of recent years).
I agree, the combat sections of Unleashed actually have me more excited than the speed areas. By the way, I have seen no spin dash as of yet. Well, at least this time he actually rolls into a ball when he homing dashes enemies (*cough*SecretRings*cough*)
I don't think they'll keep the Hyper Sonic design, or Hyper Sonic at all for that matter, his design might cause epilipsy (or however you spell it)
yes, I did get that from Sonic Shorts 4

Like what? Lightspeed Dash? I mean Mario has the Backwards Somersault and the Wall Kick. They're pretty vital for survival too ya know.

he's had those since 64 though, they're not something new

Prototype stuff though it was in the rom's tiles.
And yeah Sonic can do spin offs to his heart is content, I just want the main series to have the polished feeling as some of the other series are and Sonic lets face it isn't. I am not saying I want a 2D Sonic game per say - though Unleashed seems to have the best formula for Sonic in 3D, but as long as its fun but polished, Heroes, Shadow would have been better than average as long as its polished. Shadow feels and looks like SA2, that shows that theres been no improvement since SA2.
Unleashed has shown a lot of growth compared to both 06 and Secret Rings. So there should be no complaining, even with Were-hog, after-all it is Sonic, its not like we have a character that we will be force fed and never leave, I doubt were-hog will appear again other than a Unleashed sequel.
I would hope that they would tone down the flashing aspect of it (and the after-images would be so awesome). You are right, seeing as the super emeralds and the master emerald (having been united a couple times through the 3d games) have no brought about the super emeralds.
Technically, Sonic's first 3d venture introduces the lightspeed dash, so it is equivalent to 64 in terms of 'relative age.'

Oh, I hadn't known that, Flare.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Sonic might become a sheik/samus-like character in the new SSB and transform into a werehog either at will or after his final smash. That all depends upon Unleashed's popularity and how far in the future SSB4 is.

FLUDD pretty much enhanced Sunshine. Which made gameplay new and such. Then the gravity like world in Galaxy, plus the new Powerups that go along with that.
I mean I don't understand what the insignificant thing you're talking about is.
He means if you take Mario from Galaxy and put him in 64, he would play the same. Not a bad thing because he plays really good and in each game there is something that makes it different from the previous, but its the game that adds things not the character.
if you took mario from galaxy and put him in 64 i would probably dislike the game
Point is, they play the same, the moves, are the same minus the spin attack while though effect not amazing.

Yes but they were pretty much enhanced. Mario's swimming in Galaxy was a lot easier than it was in 64. So is wall-kicking.
It seems Nintendo only improves on things in Mario games while Sonic only got worse. Well lets hope this new "Hedgehog engine" will be good.
As much as Sonic's taking a beating, there is one Sonic game I am lookinh forward to:
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.
I already love RPG games, and getting to see new levels remade into a 3D wonderland of exploration sounds pretty fun.
Plus some special attacks are just like Elite Beat Agents.
Let's hope this one helps kick up Sonic one whole notch
