help im laughing too hard
to be fair thats pretty much how the creative process works - you can't build something from nothing, you have to take influence from other things (nothing is completely original)
that being said, this game is less influenced by minecraft as much as it is literally minecraft 2d, and by the looks of it, a BAD minecraft 2d
it wouldn't have been so offensive if they gave the game some original function that sets it apart from minecraft, but instead it looks like they chose to literally copy it in one less dimension

pssst: they aren't trying to do serious reviews like 90% of the times. sometimes, their reviews actually reflect their own opinion, but they're just in character in every review they make.
the best gamers is like, imagine someone from the 90s, who thinks that Doom and Duke Nukem are the most awesome thing. Then make him do reviews.
Well uh, yeah, but there's a difference between ridiculing something and legitimately insulting it. 95% of the Terraria review was ridiculing. The last part with the obnoxious laughing and deviantArt thing (despite being funny) was still pretty insulting imo. Making the video when the original was taken down wasn't really funny; just more like "I AM BEST GAMER I BEST THE GAMES I AM BEST"
funny as hell
What makes me laugh is how 90% of the comments are butt-hurt YouTube users that can't get it through their heads that the review is an extremely obvious joke. Maybe they'd know that if they watched his other videos (Like his Pkmn B& W Review for example, since it's pretty clear there) for once as a reference, instead of randomly searching for Terraria videos to spam the "Like" button and flame anyone who thinks otherwise of the game.

adventure = metroid right guys???????????????
Although you, as an avid Metroid fan, may disagree with that assessment, Metroid is generally most well-known for its exploration and "open" environments (as in, you can go anywhere your equipment can take you). From that point-of-view, it seems to fit okay.
I haven't played it yet, so I can't judge it, but from videos (which I haven't actually watched very many of yet), it looks decently fun (the exploration and combat parts, anyway; building seems to be little more than a novelty, required for getting people to move in only). The "town-raising" part actually sounds like one of the more interesting parts for me.
Just, uh... those sprites and those sounds... ugh...
The way I see it, though: I already have one major time-waster (Minecraft) that both looks nicer and can be modded fairly easily to include most of the things that Terraria boasts.

why are you surprised are you literally retarded
When did I ever express surprise.
what
Why the legs don't move?
Yeah, I know, WIP.
Also, I've seen a screenshot where somebody replaced the sun with Notch's head.
Lastly, Terraria is fairly easy to mod. First of all, you don't even need to decompile the source to make mods, just reference to it in C# with the XNA Framework and presto pasta pesto.
Also, like in Minecraft, the coding is just horrible. Lots of elseif-constructions instead of using switch-constructions for example and redundant and overly long methods.
looks like hes being sarcastic, he's proud its his competition cuz its just so terrible.
