STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE
[Image: Ocarina-3D-Sheik.jpg]
Still looks like a major improvement. Also note that this will be on a much smaller screen, so I doubt we really need things to be at super high standards.
If I had a 3DS I would get this. It looks lovely.
Its on majorly improved hardware, but whatever as long as they don't release it like that.
You guys are getting just a bit touchy, don't you think? Pugnificent's point is valid. The environments look like they just took the ones from the N64 version and retextured them. The textures themselves look good, but the blockiness of the environments is unappealing, at least from my point of view. I was hoping they'd do something a bit better...

I guess what it boils down to is what you would personally expect from a video game remake, which most of us are probably going to have different views on...

Besides the graphics though, the game seems pretty nice. It'd be cool if they actually added some new content... Whenever I do get around to buying a 3DS, (not soon) this will probably be the first title I buy. I can only hope they decide to remake Majora's Mask after this.
I personally feel like the screenshot looks awesome.
Now shrink it down to the screen it was intended for and put it in motion and it will look even better.
All games look like they have jaggies in static images.

If there's one thing we've learned from this thread it;s the game looks much better in motion than it does in screens.

I'm going to down rep you now just so i can up rep you again.

I got to play this a bit last Sunday.

It definitely looks better and plays smoother; but I definitely think they could have done more. Even in the demo, I was getting popup, patches of slowdown, and animations that were a little on the jerky side. I don't know how easy porting of games are; but this definitely feels like a port more than a remake.

It's a very good port, mind. Especially when you compare it to shit like Rayman 3D.

Okay, you have opened my eyes. I am going to cancel my pre-order since the game will still look like shit because it has low poly models and all they did was re-texture the entire game, despite the fact it wouldn't be noticeable like koopaul said.

Just because it's on improved hardware doesn't mean developers have to push the graphical limitations like Rare does. Forgive me if this hasn't already been mentioned, but your looking at it from a PC, so obviously, it will look very different compared to the actual console it's made for.
I dunno if it's really about pushing graphical limitations. Just optimisation.

I've heard that people were able to replicate engine glitches that were present in the original.

This appears to be an original engine port + graphical/animation facelift with additional content.

if you like the fucking game buy it looks like the gameplays in tact
the graphics are indeed improved but not what they should be is all im saying
two things.

1) i will be getting this so i can play video game in 3D, not because graphics
2) link is straight up the same model as smash bros melee. young link too.
yeah i did kind of notice a weird familiarity with the models, and it's pretty striking when you can see that shit up close
you're all way too excited for something that should had been made on the game cube like 10 years ago with the already re-relase of OOT/MQ.

its a rather cheap move to port this and simply retexture it? yes. but at least its not ANOTHER remake of a mario game wich i'm pretty sure is an already overdone move from nintendo on its handhelds since that horrible port of sm64 on the DS. and yeah, this has been almost a standard since smb DX(welp how do i still remember this)

wich in any case doesnt deny the fact the sm sunshine is probably going to be launched on this in a couple of months. if not galaxy(with new features such as... 3D functionality)

in any case, its 1998 all over again, people overhyping this zelda just cause it looks nice, even when its the exact same game with the exact same gameplay and the same exact plot(?) and you all know whats going to offer and it will probably carry the same glitches and bugs the original n64 title(wich ironically and to an extent, did not affect the gameplay but in some instances even aded to it, inb4 gold skulltullas)

all in all, again, you're all just buying the same exact game for the third time: the original, the game cube relase, the 3ds relase and add a fourth if you got it on the virtual console (obiusly not counting those who bought again the original cart and console.).
