I haven't done this in a while
Just Bioshock is my favourite game ever okay
I need help knowing if I'm going the right way with the Bouncer (right), and comments on the little sister are nice too. (Especially help with the yellow eyes I can't get them to stand out).
EDIT: Here's the final Bouncer:
You can try putting purply bags under her eyes, since the yellow isn't standing out. Purple contrasts pretty well with yellow and should also stand out a bit against the greenish colour you're using for the skin. Since yellow and green are pretty close together on the colour wheel, having green and yellow next to each other with little tonal difference isn't gonna read very well.
Everyone sucks for not posting, critique this update (please)
I still need to do the cage thingy (around his face), the tank on his back, the drill, and the chest area

Do it.
may i suggest these
pictures, like this
one, that
one or even this
one, which could help with the shading and colour palette of both!
edit:
a very quick palette change (literally 2 minutes). notice how i'm not using a white backdrop.
i hope all of these make you have a fresh view on how to progress!
It looks like it's progressing pretty nicely. You could probably up the contrast a little on the Bouncer's arm, but it's good so far otherwise.
@C2B, the palette change really helps the little sister. The Bouncer, though, has become a bit too dark for that background, and there's a bit too much contrast the lightest golds and the darker ones. Either way, it does have an atmosphere better fitting the original material rather than Drill Dozer's colorful style.
Oops, I ugh.. didn't work on this for a bit, and I still don't think I'm really done...
While I agree in the context of the original game it works better, I don't know, I just felt like I wanted to work brighter.
I'll probably also do an alternate palette when I'm done with your tips in mind, thanks
Ignore the other stuff I just quickly screencapped it..
i really like how this is coming along, but i would mess with the pallet a bit more. chris made some good changes, even if they are difficult to see on the backdrop he used
As suggested, I tried going darker with the palette.
Do I still need to go darker, or maybe somewhere in between?
The comments have really helped btw, thanks a lot.
The darker definately looks better. The only problem is with the little sister, she's really hard to 'read'
also I say inbetween
Yeah, I have to fix the little sister again, with what I've learned from the Big Daddy. I'll see what else I can do to fix the colours on him as well, thanks.
imo the middle one has the best balance of colour and shadow. also, the green looks nice with the brown.
