Epic fail... sorry man but wow...
badly shaded... the bridge and ship levels are more drawings in paint than sprites, the boat should have an ocean background and actually have an animation cycle were it bobs up and down in waves.
The items have absolutely no shadeing/ bad shadeing.
The bridge is styled as though it were ment for non side scrolling characters, the portal above should have an animation cycle, the bridge should have a cycle were the King Bulblin runs in and blows it up, then a cycle for it being repaired by the portal, and then it needs a background as well, could stand for some shadeing.
And I can't say much for Kirby and his hats, those are more well done.
I would suggest takeing some tutorials on shadeing.
I rely shouldn't say they suck because I would have done worse when I first started out...
Just practice and get some tips.
I'm sure you can improove.
I'm not trying to be an ass, but theese are bad...

i see what you mean about the shading,i'm working on a pallete for the items, but i'm mostly focused on my kirby for now(and sonic)
i actually do better with my sprites when i break the pieces apart and work them sepratelly

Criticman ahoy!
Well, your "Sonic" (and "Shadow") needs more work. First you need a better color palette. The colors look dull and lacks contrast. Also use hue-shifting. With these techniques, you'll get more interesting colors
Sonic/Shadow's body isn't just a gradient-colored square with round edges. Use reference pics to get the body shape right. However, if you're using the classic Sonic as your ref pic, I suggest you making the body rounder. Also, your shading looks very subtle, which isn't good. A shading that you can't see is useless, you know. Also, you must have some 3D knowledge. A sphere can't be shaded like a piece of paper. And fix the colorized outline: Note how the side pose's belly part looks thinner because of the blue outline. Color it yellow to make it more 3D. Don't forget his tail, too.
His limbs aren't the same size:I think the legs are slighty longer than the arms. Also, make the thickness constant: it looks tighter in some places.
His hand is HUGE. fix that. It's almost reaching his feet without even bending down. I doubt you can do that. Also his feet are small. Increase its size.
I don't want to let you down with these criticisms: I'm just helping you make the sprites better. Keep trying and you'll be good someday

i knew someone would say the hands looked big
i might want to move the color up to a brighter color
i will get to work on them as soon as i get to my house

I think they should be bigger. It's hard to fit detail into such small things. But if your okay with it being small, Then good luck on the heads... And i'd recomend looking at some other sprites for reference. Preferably ones close to that size. Advance ones would work well.
*Edit: And remember, Sonic has Blue legs.

You really should change your palette and shading. The colors look so bland and have no real contrast, and the shading just doesn't fit. The hands are still too big, as well. Go over Gorsal's C+C, since he already did a good job at explaining what's wrong, and make sure you follow his advice.
