Super Robot Wars, the game that usually does these types of things, but apparently made it into japanese mainstream. Wikipedia confirms this.

And Amon, would you be a kind lad and help me name them all? I can only recognize 30-50% of them. It would be easier to tell one from the other and make them easier to spot, somewhat.

There are ones I spotted that I'm surprised anyone remembered, but you and Amon know more of them than I do. I feel ashamed to call myself a nerd.
