i swear there better be a wii u version
I agree, but for some reason I now have hopes for a luigi's mansion remade for the 3ds in the future.

It's this new trend of developers taking console/arcade franchises and sticking them on portables exclusively. Other examples include Mega Man Legends 3, Paper Mario 3DS, Metal Slug 7, Contra 4, Okamiden. There are probably more but those are just the first few that come to mind.
The problem with this is that I usually want to play the newest Luigi's Mansion or Mega Man Legends or Paper Mario on a huge HDTV and become completely immersed in it, not a small 3-inch LCD screen while I'm lying in bed or riding a metro train. We may get a 3DS Player in the future but it'll probably upscale, not redraw; try resampling a 400x480 image to HD resolution and see what happens. The ideal solution would be to release versions of each game for both console and portable (Sonic Colors kind of sort of did this), but not many seem to want to take that risk.

Remade? I don't really see much point in that. It's not even been that long and 2 is already in good progress. Remake seems kinda out of the question.

I think it's safe to say the Wii U is going to sell more than the 3DS by the end of next year. I don't know for sure but it's just a hunch.
Luigi's Mansion 2 would be so much more successful if it were to be on Wii or Wii U. Though the massive amount of games coming to 3DS is making me want to buy it, but I still plan on getting a Wii U first because consoles tend to last me longer than handhelds do.

I might actually consider getting a 3DS for Christmas...
Though I still feel as though my DS Lite isn't all that old and I got a PSP after that and it feels like I'm asking too much but I'll consider it.

More like not getting a 3Ds until it's reiteration comes out 3DS.Lite. I don't think I want one unless someone buys me one or I win one. It seems everyone is trying to give one away so I like my chances.

I kind of wish Wii U was more than just really pretty tech demos and New Super Mario Bros Wii-have-no-idea-how-to-do-foreground-background-integration.
Like, Pikmin 3, Super Smash Bros., and a whole bunch of ports. That's all I remember.
3DS though really took the cake (and any prospects of me being financially sound).
I'm impressed with Vita from a technical standpoint but considering it still looks extremely uncomfortable to hold (and I'm damn sure using the analog sticks would cover the speakers with my thumbs) I don't really want one.
Also I'd be surprised if there were a 3DS Lite considering 3DS is already about the size of a DS Lite anyway.

I'm not getting a Wii U either. It looks totally awesome but no.

They used all their space saving tricks getting it as small as it currently is.
Either buy it now, or...
wait two years, I guess.

By the end of two years it'll have probably price-dropped about $50-$100, as well.
About the only hardware revision I'd be interested in is cameras that aren't shit, anyway. Which doesn't really justify a new purchase.

i doubt i'll get a new console anytime soon.

how could i forgot this
didn't dreamcast's vmu worked in the exact same(yet obiusly primitive) way the wii u does?
its basically the exact same concept, albeit the hardware restrictions for each system. saying this to futher think that the wii will probably be a single server-like console able to stream the data to each controller, rather than a single system+controller combo(wich would probably be a dumb idea anyway)
