Probably. I'm not even get finished what I wanted to do on the silhouette OR my Heavy! Very Sad

*Working on it now*
I have to say, despite how hard the prelim challenge was, I really felt like I was pushed to display my best instead of just chucking something out for you guys to digest. There's a sense of palpable achievement when you finish and I think the process of pushing myself to finish actually helped me improve a lot in these past few hours.

Still, about half the initial entrants are going to fall off the train here, from novice to expert, just for lack of time. The quality of the first round was certainly high, but I think the quantity is the main stumbling block here. Both Silhouette and Heavy took me about five hours each to complete, which added together is more than ten hours of invested pixeling time- perhaps not something people are willing to put in for what is essentially a for-fun tournament.
Honestly though I expected it.
Why would you even enter something like this if you weren't gonna put in your best?

I think it was pretty reasonable. The only part that seemed to be difficult for less experienced pixelers I think was the silhouette. The Heavy and Roll were very reasonable and simple challenges that were doable for beginners and had the potential for some awesome results from the experts.
do they still could go to this event? I just got here and wanted to join this site addition, over the registration period is over I do not know if she could come. Answers me there
yes, hurry up though

I'm afraid I have to agree...!
I don't mind that TUGS is supposed to be challenging, but I'm very consciously aware that prelims are just to get placed somewhere. If it was round 1 I wouldn't be complaining. It's not even the "challenge" really that bothered me, just that these sprites were all super huge and asked for way more time and work than I thought was necessary for the sake of figuring out your tier level. Like, I'm already sick of spriting and round 1 hasn't even started yet. I'll do it, I just mean that I hope things are shrunk down next time...!

Sorry but... this.
Yep. Especially since the different tasks were for the most part redundant. We had to color, we had to shade and color and we had to shape, shade and color..... the latter two being quite big ones, too. Long story short, I fully agree with StarSock Cute

I kinda did more pixel work for these prelims than I did in the whole time between the last TUGS and the current one Tongue
I really liked the silhouette assignment. coloring roll was also pretty cool. although i think it would have been better if we either didn't have the heavy or if we had something smaller or easier or w/e.

Even though I'm not in TUGS, I was expecting the traditional "make a lineart" instead of shading Heavy. It seemed like a bit too much for a prelim round.
I hated the prelim event, sorry.

I also didn't finish because I had work to do, so. Welp.
What I'll do at some point in time is a thread which will synthesize what makes a good TUGS, like a formula, if you wish. I've already been given a lot of feedback so it's just a matter of articulating it.
The preliminaries already started and ended? I thought this was supposed to start on the 23rd?

You do the preliminaries before it starts.
