am I the only one that dislikes pokémon remakes?
al the new pokémon games are just so blah to me. Ruby and Sapphire was all right. Everything before that was awesome, everything after that :/
I played Pokémon Black for a little bit but then stopped because it was just the same game all over again, with WOO AMAZING new features and lame new pokémon.
IMO. feel free to disagree.
I didn't care for Ruby/Sapphire, or Diamond/Pearl. I haven't played Black/White, but I love Heart Gold/Soul Silver. So.

No, but that doesn't mean they're not going to happen.
At the very least, I'm okay with RSE getting a straight remake because there was very little that needed fixing. GSC needed a fair bit of fixing in terms of pacing and level scaling; and HGSS didn't bother. A repeat performance will at least leave us with something a little more fun to play.
I actually think they WILL remake (or just hope they will) because Gameboy games are starting to become more and more rare (new DS made w/o a gameboy slot), and they're going to be harder to find. While I don't think it'll happen soon, I'm expecting one in 2-3 years, like they did with HGSS
No one knows really because Nintendo is more focused on Super Pokemon Scramble (sequel to Pokemon Rumble) on the 3DS. After that, they probably will think about Pokemon R/S remakes. To me, I think R/S/E is getting boring. I play the game and reminds me of nostalgia once in a while, but there is some stuff they need to change. In Pokemon Black, I am trying to complete the Pokedex, but however I don't have my Emerald since it is lost. When I go to the nearest game store (Gamestop) and look for GBA games. Emerald is there but is almost the price of a new DS game. So I figured I'd wait.
R/S/E is nostalgia?
Different times I guess.
R/S/E pokemon can't be transferred without 4th gen games, so unless they change this in Grey I think they will make a remake. Especially with a new generation of pkmn fans. However, HG/SS had an extra gimmick - the fact that you could visit a brand new Kanto and Johto. Unless we have to wait a few years for D/P/Pt to turn 10, or something, we may have to wait a few more years, I fear. Shame, Hoenn is one of my favourite regions. Especially with the intro of some of the best pokemon in the series. Deoxys, Metagross, Salamence, Huntail. I really would love to see this remake sometime soon.

they probrably are gonna remake it just for money...
I bought a copy of emerald years ago from game (found shiny doduo as soon as i got to the safari zone
), tried transferring to diamond and the game deleted itself, and every ime i played emerald with a ds game in slot 1 it reset itself... I took it back and they said nothing was wrong with it T_T
personally R/S/E was my favorite generation so I'd hope there would be remakes
replaying through Hoenn with up to fifth gen pokemon would be pretty fun~

fix'd
But if they were remaking the games they'd likely have new graphics anyway.
gen 3 had a lot of awesome Pokemon and the region was cool and there was even a handful of decent characters, but man were the games boring. I blame it half of the awful villains and half on the completely ridiculous story.
If gamefreak was to make the plot more compelling then the remake would be awesome, but they probably won't.
Im going to buy it either way though
If they are going to remake RSE:
Mirage Island should appear more commonly (you originally have a better chance at getting 2 Shiny Pokémon)
The white rock near the Space Centre should have an actual function, like the Ilex Forest Shrine.
Now that I mention it, the Space Centre should be more than a building with NPCs.
Replace Acro Bike and Mach Bike with the Bike from DPPt. Going all the way to Mauville just to change bikes is a pain. Sky Pillar comes to mind.
Keep the Secret Bases. RSE were the only games to get them right.
Faraway Island and Birth Island events, since not everyone can get their hands on a Deoxys.
Battle Frontier similar to Emerald, speaks for itself.
Pokémon Contests to get those RSE ribbons for your post 3rd Gen Pokémon.
The ability to battle Gym Leaders again, battle Steven if Wallace is the Champion and maybe special guests like Cynthia in BW.
Extra areas, mainly for catching post Gen 3 Pokémon.
