If gamefreak was to make the plot more compelling then the remake would be awesome, but they probably won't.
Im going to buy it either way though
it was also overshadowed by the lack of day/night time, radio, telephone and visiting previous regions that silver had
One of my favorite things about RSE was the music, if the're going to make a remake the music will be awesome.
At least i think so.

technically the day/night system was in R/S, however it was really less obvious because of the lack of hue changes or whatever the hell made the game look like it was a certain time of day.
I don't see why people think it won't happen.
I mean it was the best selling game on the GBA. That should give Gamefreak reason enough to remake it. Since, y'know, Gamefreak likes money and blah blah blah.
It'll happen, just not yet.
Maybe for Gen VI, but I seriously doubt Gen V will get much more than what it already has.
I don't get how you wouldn't think it's coming eventually when you consider we've had a remake since generation 3 on.

Different times I guess.
Eh? Isn't it around eight years old? I'm seventeen, making me around nine when the games were released. It qualifies for nostalgia material imo.
I don't consider it nostalgia, I'm 18.
It might depend on how long it's actually been since you've played the game, like you might have played it less than 9 years ago. Maybe not entirely.
Though it wouldn't be nostalgic to me of course since I've only ever gotten to play it on an emulator and that was about 3 years ago or so.
Downloading Yoshi's Story on VC on the other hand, that was mega nostalgia.

DP: Announced late 2004, JP Release late 2006
Pt: Announced early 2008, JP Release late 2008
HGSS: Announced early 2009, JP Release late 2009
BW: Announced early 2010, JP Release mid-late 2010
Pokemon games are generally announced in Q1 or Q2 and are released in Japan in Q3 or Q4 (depending upon the quarter of announcement), so I'll say that Pokemon games take 2 quarters from announcement to Japanese release (which will take another quarter to localize). Keep in mind that DP took much longer because it was for a new platform, unlike Pt/HGSS/BW where they could reuse code.
If Nintendo announced a Pokemon game this month (beginning of Q3) they would be releasing it in Japan in Q1. That is, if it was for the DS. BUT we're already 4 months into the 3DS. A release in January (which would be unlikely if announced at this point, it'd most likely be February of March) would be 10 months into the 3DS. Nintendo is
very unlikely to make a game for the DS at that point, Kirby will probably be the DS' death certificate. Obviously other companies are welcome to develop DS games and DSiWare, but Nintendo working on anything but the 3DS and Wii/Wii U would be a bad thing for a company to do. Why would you cater to those who have had 10 months to upgrade but haven't? Some people will, but a Big Name Game? I'd expect Captain America to have a VHS release before that.
What if they made Grey and the RS remakes for the 3DS? Well, we'd have a long wait. Long enough for them to make new generation anyways.
tl;dr: Nintendo would be stupid to make a RS game for the DS and it would take over a year to release it on the 3DS.
Eh, I guess we'll wait an' see
No matter when Nintendo releases the Pokemon game, they'll make a huge amount of money off of it. Not just because it's a remake - but it'll also provide players with an easy way to transfer Generation 3 Pokemon without having to go from RSE to D/P/Pt then finally be able to transfer to B/W.
I don't really know what Nintendo plans to do - I guess it all depends on how popular the 3ds becomes.
