^ This. I haven't seen "Pacific Rim" yet but I plan to see it mainly for its action scenes. Let's face facts; it's a sci-fi flick about giant robots smashing giant monsters. That's the whole hook and that's what 90% of the audience is going for. I never really expected it to have any real depth to it. But going with what Koopaul said, he's a hundred percent right. Anyone remember "The Cell"? The entire film centered around forced pseudo-depth and produced nothing but a confusing and overly pretentious film.
Watched Source Code with the family today, pretty awesome movie.
I watched Kick-Ass with dad today. Not that bad.
Turbo.
It was very "Meh".
Reboot of Evil Dead.
Holyyyyyy shit that actually really good but fuck that was way too gory for me at times.
Dogma.
Akira
Holy shitballs, the animation quality was unreal

banned.
Pacific Rim was alright. The character development was generic and pretty routine, but as a BAM WOOSH BANG ACTION MOVIE!!! that's better than nothing at all.
The action wasn't even as good as it could've been...my friends and I saw it to see some awesome jaeger/kaiju battles, and while it had its moments, wasn't as stylized as I was hoping for.
We also caught Kiki's Delivery Service at the Detroit Institute of Art's showcase of animation. That movie is goddamn sweet
Watched "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."
Good movie right thar.
Robin Hood
Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
God this movie never gets old. So fucking hilarious.
I saw Monsters University before but i'm planing to watch The Heat sometime.
