Well I didn't say anything offensive, your improving but, you shouldn't revamp it and keep updating, just let him do it, you can maybe show him once b ut you keep updating, it looks nice but just let Liam do the work.

Neither of them are good at all, both are blocky and out of style.
You should really ask before "re-vamping" someone's sprite(s) if you ask me. Would like to see an update on Liam's though.
