i didnt even bother to read any of the posts in this thread beyond the first few words because every single post in this thread is horrible, you all have terrible opinions and cant even muster up a decent criticism to save your life
the last line of the opening post where he said "inspired by AVGN" kind of settled things.
lol
I guess we should post "all castlevanias except HoD" then
symphony of the night, harmony of dissonance, super castlevania IV, bloodlines, I, III and order of ecclesia are the good castlevania games
what about the first castlevania game
seriously, I had fun playing it :C

the first one was really cool. it was this incredibly tight and quick experience. i've only beaten it a handful of times but i kind of love it for that.

sorry im not gonna make a thunder mountian essay for games i dislike. I said what they are and why i don't like them. I think it's pretty simple lmao.
hey I can finally go "in your fucking face" whenever anyone ever calls me out for "bitching too much about sonic"
a lot of these posts seem to me about people being biased and "well this didn't live up to the hype"
I mean, I hated games like Sonic 4, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, but I probably wouldn't put them in my list of top 10 worst videogames, because although I hate them with a passion, I hate them for what they tried to be or tried to sell to me, that does not make them necessarily a bad game. They're bad, but they aren't the worst thing. Nor I would put in my list an RPG or a game of a genre that I can't play well, etc. I understand that maybe it wouldn't be fun if everyone posted "Big Rigs" and anything, and it might be more interesting if everyone posted games that disappointed them the most, but still, although it is ~your opinion~ I can't help but feel that some of you and some of these choices are extremely immature or are based upon one lens only instead of actually analyzing the game as a whole
As for me, idk. When I play a really bad game I just shut it off and forget about it. Maybe Sonic and the Black Knight, which is a game that I actually remember because I played it until I cleared it (proving to a dumb guy that was praising it for all sorts of things that the game didn't even had that anyone can beat the game in less than two hours really easily). I hate how you can clear half the stages by just holding forward. It takes Secret Rings and gives it less linear controls, but a fuckton linear gameplay and stages that are nothing but a flat surface with scripted events and enemies in determined points of it.
you dont have to write an essay
you can say really nice or interesting things in just a sentence or two. the issue is that no one really did. they just said RETARDLY CRAP LEVELS HAHA U THROW SWORD? THATS DUMB or BAD GRAPHICS BAD MUSIC BAD EVERYTHING SO BAD kind of stuff.

oh okay, it had "bloodlines I" all together, so I got kinda confused
Castlevania is that kind of series that I find hard to hate
of course, there might be some niggles but they're compensated by other things and get balanced in the process.
Now, a terrible game should have a huge problem, so big that even the potentially good things get drowned in it.
for example, I could say that Krusty's Fun House (SNES) is a terrible game imo because the gameplay premise, while is interesting for its time, it's poorly executed. This is also matched by horrid graphics and a shitty soundtrack.
Also I understand why Bomberman 64 is in this thread; while it plays very well and has interesting techniques, the whole game feels like a fucking maze and never could beat the first four levels. Maybe I'm not patient enough, but it sounds not likely becuase I managed to complete Super Metroid.

yeah i noticed that afterwards and fixed it, my bad X:
games that were disappointing for you != worst games ever
games that are slightly worse than others in the franchise != worst games ever
games with premises you don't really like != worst games ever
seriously an actual worst games ever list would be populated entirely by shit like animal soccer and educational games, not super mario galaxy and smash bros brawl
its also completely and totally uninteresting a concept. nobody really cares to see the blatantly obviously awful: bad but not awful or brilliantly flawed games tend to serve a much more interesting and enlightening purpose.

why people put those games on their list is probably because they remember hating them with a passion.
Plus are you really gonna go out of your way to play an educational or generic shovelware sports game, KNOWING that you'll hate it anyway?
I think lists like these are just fine, and whining about them seems a bit... idk meaningless.
I actually haven't played any games that are actually horrible, only either bad games or games that I just don't like for certain reasons.
For example, I don't like World of Goo, it's one of the games I like the least (I hate Eternity's Child more), but that doesn't mean it's actually a horrible game. I know enough people who enjoy the game.
And sure, I've played quite some bad or even horrible games, but most of these games come from shady companies that are already defunct, and are mostly from the DOS era. I mean, sure, Commodore, Atari, they all had horrible games, but the DOS era had about a shitton of bad games, since everybody basically could make their own shitty games. Hell, just open up QuickBASIC (the version with a binary compiler), create an easy-as-fuck game with it, and there, you have your own shitty game to release commercially.
It also doesn't help my mind discards anything I don't think is important. Shitty games are not important to me, so I can't even remember them at all.
Also, I vote for a topic change.
Games you don't like.
