i am not even joking i totally saw that coming since we first saw
If what it's implying is true that would mean that
it would have to happen before Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
which just adds another layer of what the fuck.
On the other hand there was also
so maybe it's just a fashion statement.
you have to remember that
river didn't technically die in forest of the dead. she's on a computer, yeah, but people in doctor who have come back from worse
on top of that, its pretty damn clear that they have a complicated relationship, considering she still hasn't killed best man she ever knew.
my personal theory is that
kovarian is river from an earlier regeneration, raised by her future self to kill the doctor (a cycle probably set into motion by a third party), which she succeeds at in some fashion, if she really is the one in the space suit. the scene we see in the trailer of her with the eyepatch would be early in her regeneration as the river we know. later on she falls in love with the doctor and all the stuff we've seen her do happens.
Right, I forget that
River has Time Lord powers, so it's not that weird for her to look like that before her "current" version. In that case, it'll be interesting to see how she developed from Impossible Astronaut to Kovarian to River Song, if that's actually the case :o
