Yeah tails seem to be the big thing now. Just like riding Yoshi was at one point not too long ago.

I thought the tails thing died along with smb3.

I know this deals less with Mario Kart but...

Jesus Christ, where did this re-obsession with tails come from? People liked the Tanooki suit because it could fly. Though the item seems cool, I would've much preferred it if they referenced the ol' feather item by making it let the Kart spin-jump like in Super Mario Kart. That way it can hit people right before the jump, and still use shortcuts (granted the level design is made for it).
